Adverts.ie would be your best bet. If you're patient you'll get a great deal.

Seahorse Aquariums are competitively priced for a bricks and mortar shop. As stated above if you bide your time you'll find someone who just wants rid. Although not too many 500L tanks come up often but then again not too many takers either.

Generally I'd say go second hand but you see less tanks of that size moving. Have a chat with Gavin in Artane Aquatics. Don't know if he has anything in stock of 500l+ but he could certainly get it for you and tends to be a few quid cheaper than Seahorse.

I saw a 400L one for sale on one of the Irish fish forums earlier, he is looking for €800 for it. New in one of the shops it's €1,600. Secondhand is definitely the way to go.

    Whereabouts are you based?

1,600 quid is an insane price for a 400 litre tank unless it has a really top of the range filter and led lights.

Dear lord that is expensive. Did that include the stand?

The new one came with everything, tank(obviously)/stand/sump/lighting/heating/filter/skimmer.
