Hi. Does anyone know if there's a running group for absolute beginners (couch to 5k) in Celbridge? I've seen some in the early evenings in Castletown but they looked pretty advanced. There's a good one in Naas but it's too far.

There's a new club started up - Maynooth Running Club. They train in Salesians on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.

All welcome from seasoned pro to couch potato. I know they guy who started it up - he's sound.

    Hi,

Join the Fit4Life in the Celbridge Athletics club, we train every Wednesday at seven. It caters for every level.
There's about 30 of us at the moment, from total beginners to a fairly decent level.
Currently it's divided into 2 or 3 groups in the sessions so it's easy to find your own level and then push on.
We also arrange our own run on Mondays (through WhatsApp) meeting at Tesco car park at 7 and then a walk/run up through Castletown and back.
The ratio is more women to men on Wednesdays but about the same on Mondays.A few might do a park run on Sat. morning.
Some of the group might organise a run during the day if their not working.
The club is behind the girls school on the Clane Road

PM for more details if needed.

    Hi,

I'm gonna update this for anyone else thinking of taking the plunge with the Fit4Life

    Wednesday night@ 7
39 in the group last night, some on their first or second night so a good mix of beginners and experienced runners, divided up into 5 groups of 8 for the training we did last night and it seemed to work well.

Some of us went to Castletown last Monday but it was getting dark, so we'll probably stick to the main roads from now on.
Meeting in Tesco carpark at the bottle banks every Monday @ 7

If anyone's interested check out the Celbridge AC facebook page or enquire here
