Pick of the games has to be City Vs Chelsea.
Will Costa keep up his form of scoring in each game!
Can Di Maria replicate his game from last week!
Best of luck with your captain choice, I can't change from Costa.

All eggs in the Welbeck captaincy basket

Not really sure who to start and who to bench. Thoughts?

    De Gea

    --- Collocini -- Duff -- Taylor

    Sterling - Siggy - Ramsey - Fabregas

    --- Costa -- Rooney (C) -- Ade

    Bench - Chambers, Hutton, Larsson

Biggest question of the day for me is how many minutes past 11:30 will the GW6 transfers thread be opened!

But seriously. I think this will be a very low scoring week....not too confident.

Poor captain choice each game week so far. So this week going with rooney. Of course I'll panic and change captain at 11.28 and then regret it.

Don't change. Go with the popular choice. No point in taking risks at this stage. Over the course of the season this is the only way to go IMO. If Rooney sucks at least the majority will have him captain.

Can see a goalfest in the Swans-Southampton game, not confident going into it with a defender from each team :(

Somehow I can see Southampton getting a big result at Swansea. I've got both Siggy and Schneiderlin in my team.

Right. Currently fielding Taylor - Clyne - Pieters in defence.

Not too happy of leaving Ivanovic on the bench. He's away to City and Mourinho seems to have changed his tactics to a more entertaining attacking one. So I don't really see a CS for them. But of course he could score.

Would you remove any of my 3 fielded def for him or leave it like that?

    Right order?

    Krul (Mccarthy)

    Clyne duff Evans (pieters Hutton)

Chadli soggy ramsay Di maria (fabregas)

    Rooney (c) pelle costa

I wouldn't be happy with leaving a 7 million defender on the bench. If you're going to spend that much on him then surely he has to start every game, regardless of opponent.

Do I stick with Caulker and Lovren or take one out for Janmaat?

I'd stick with caulker and lovren for this weekend. Both have goodish fixtures.

I'd definitely play Ivanovic probably for Pieters.

Liverpool never look like keeping clean sheets. Moreno though is superb going forward and will be involved in lots of goals.

Prob my bias coming out in keeping a Liverpool def in :P

Will be looking to bring in Moreno next week for Lovren but used 2 transfers this week to bring in Rooney. Don't think I have the guts to take a -8 before it starts

Who would ye play? Krul or Courtois?

Trying to pick the less terrible choice.

For this week I would go with Krul, cant see chelsea keeping a clean sheet.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm also not sure Krul can keep one either though!

    I would play Courtois.

Newcastle is really struggling at the moment.

I think I'd be playing Ivanovic in your position. Even if they do let a goal in (which I think they will), he'll be a menace attacking down the right where this season he actually has a target for his crosses in the form of Costa and he also poses a threat from set pieces. Bench him at your own peril.

I'm facing my own dilemma in midfield. Currently starting Sigurdsson, Sterling, Di Maria and Fabregas with Schneiderlin benched. I'm 90% happy with that, and pretty happy to go with Siggy playing at home. But I find myself second guessing myself every ten minutes haha

I am starting Terry. Defenders tend to score set pieces in games between the top teams. Chelsea will park the bus away to city

I'm expecting a Chelsea clean sheet!

Chelsea kept a clean sheet at city pool arsenal and Utd last yr. I'd actually be more confident of Chelsea keeping a CS in the big games as opposed to games against the rest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

    Sorted.

    Forster (Hamer)
Hutton, Chambers, Duff ( Clyne, Moore)
Siggy, Fab, Sterling, Di Maria (Boyd)
    Ade (C), Costa, Pelle

Benching Clyne to spread the risk, otherwise would probably play him ahead of Hutton.

    Here's to 0-0 in Villa v Arsenal...

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

Thanks for all the answers lads.

I put Pieters on the bench. Though between him and Clyne it's a tough enough decision. They both can offer attacking points but play away. Clyne has a tougher game though...

    --- edit

Ah well it's too late anyway.

    Begovic

    Chambers
    Azpilicueta
    Evans
    Lovren

    Fabregas
    Mata
    Sanchez

    Rooney
    Costa
    Welbeck (c)

  • Registered Users Posts: 698 ✭✭✭lorenzo87

Ooooo big call benching Pieters in my opinion. Stoke have a much better chance to beat QPR than Southampton have of beating the Swans.

Chelsea kept a clean sheet at city pool arsenal and Utd last yr. I'd actually be more confident of Chelsea keeping a CS in the big games as opposed to games against the rest.

It is either a clean sheet with boring 1-0 score or a crazy 6-3 game. I hope it is going to be the second option.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

    De Gea
    Caulker - Bardsley - PVA
    Mata - Ramsey - Fabregas - Siggy
    Costa - Pelle - Rooney (C)

    Bench: Clyne, Coloccini, Marney

It's not inconceivable that I'll have 2 clean sheets on my bench but as of now it's the right choice to go with the 3 I started. Half my defenders will have played by 3 which will go one way or the other.

Held off on Ramsey -> Mirallas too which is in keeping with playing it safe. Going against these urges will only get harder from now on I reckon. I'm not expecting anything special from this GW anyway just hoping to get through it relatively unscathed.

FYP. But yeah realised that too late after putting Ivan on the pitch...

    Wildcard team:

    Mignolet

    Coloccini Bertrand N.Taylor

    Ramsey Fabregas Sigurdsson Sterling

    Pelle Aguero (C) Costa (VC)

Subs: Hamer, Wilson, van Aanholt, Boyd

For some reason I fancy a good few Liverpool clean sheets in the coming weeks, hence Mignolet.

I'm going to have a number of headaches with who to play in defence each week but that's the way it goes when you go for so many cheap options and I'd rather use the extra money elsewhere as the big defenders aren't doing the business as of yet. I could easily see the two sub defenders keeping clean sheets and the other three not, typical. :pac:

If it doesn't work out with the above team, at least I went with my gut feelings on it I guess.

    Good luck all.
