Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know a LOI friendly bar in Dublin city centre that would be likely to show this game today (considering the fact Liverpool are playing at the same time)?

Rossiter confirmed as captain for today, wonder will he play RB or CB

Ward also likely to start, McMillan too!

Hopefully we can still do it even giving a few "fringe!" players starts

Rossi will almost certainly be CB. He's played there a bit this season and seems much more at home there these days.

It would be good to see Wardy starting, he really deserves a chance to earn a contract next year.

Rovers have a tough schedule ahead of them over the next fortnight .I wouldn't be surprised to see Fenlon also resting a few to the bench and giving some peripheral players a chance?

Be nice to win this but really is a low priority to the league games on Tuesday and Friday and the FAI cup.

Yes. Extra Time and penalties if necessary today.

I'm in work but will be on break at that time but there's loads of Scouse lads in my job who'll be watching the Pool game. But they sound like Dubs. And were born here. And I don't think more than 1 of them has ever been to Anfield actually.

Wardie starts. Great stuff. No Shields is a bit of a worry though.

Sava; Gannon, Gartland, Rossiter, Massey; Higgins, Towell; McMillan, Ward, Horgan, Hoban.

    Excitement building.

Dundalk 1-0 up inside five minutes. Fantastic free from Massey.

Full house except for the sparse temp stand behind the goal. Shouldn't Rovers be looking to get close to their home crowd for a cup final so close as Dundalk?

We're playing some awful stuff. Lucky to go in level. Massey's free kick an absolute beauty.

Need to get Shields on for Higgins and Byrne on for Ward. Wardie not seeing any of the ball unfortunately and Higgins keeps giving it away.

What a way to start the second half. Two goals three minutes into it and unlucky not to get another a minute later. Rovers really falling apart. If they don't put a stop to Dundalk's attack, they could concede another two or three the way things are going.

Finished 3-2. Brilliant final, plenty of action in it. Nervy end for Dundalk when Kilduff pulled one back, but they deserved the win.

Was hoping it'd go to extra time, but hopefully it'll give Rovers a bit of incentive in their league match in a few weeks.

Congrats Dundalk and congrats to dundalkfc10 and Pighead too. A measure of revenge.

    On way home. Great game.

Our defending at set pieces and Barry Murphy not playing cost us game.

Would have been nice to win but Monday's win was far more important.

On the strength of that game Dundalk won't want to face us again so soon in league.

Cheers! I was only 15 when we won the FAI Cup and was at college over in England the year we won the 1st Div but that meant something to soo many Dundalk fans...

Only a League Cup I know but its a start! Win 4 of next 5 games and we win the League (3 once Cork dont beat us)

Never seen a crowd like it in Oriel since 2002 either...They must have sold some of tickets that were meant for Rovers to home fans (behind the town end wasnt even meant to be used)

What a great evening in Oriel Park. We were second best for a lot of the game but the start to the second half was unbelievable. Great to see Oriel Park rocking. Even the stand were in party mode.

I know it's 'only' the EA Sports Cup but it was important we didn't lose that game. First trophy of the Kenny era. A shot of confidence in the arms of our players for the title run in and putting a stop to rival supporters calling us bottlers.

Was disappointed for Wardie that he didn't get into the game. Showed again that he's a class act by giving his medal to a young special needs supporter who is one of Dundalk's biggest fans. Roll on the title run in.
