im glad the show finally tackled her being corrupt to an extent, the only person who could challenge her on it, was herself.

That is true, but it could have been done better. She is due a long dark night of the soul - I shouldn't be clearing cobwebs off the ceiling and making out a shopping list while she's having it - sign of poor drama, that.

    Ep. 15

Back on form. Mad defendants, 3D guns, Diane and Gary Cole almost having a domestic in open court. Not to mention Hamas.

    Still needs some Jackie.

    tackles 3d printing of guns

shouldn't they have figured this all out before the trial? i can't believe mcveigh wouldn't check for modifications

He's a grown-up and not interested in the toys of children so he was reacting to the event not responding to it. This is a story that will be played out soon probably re. a schoolyard massacre. The odds are it will happen in the US regarding their gun-happy culture but the technology makes it possible in any county in Ireland tomorrow.

    SO....she won.

I really don't think that was the right way for the show to go at all. She was a much nicer and more interesting character as a lawyer, not to mention her opponent was much more sympathetic. I'm disappointed the writers have chosen this direction going forward.

It's also somewhat scuppered her chances of developing realtionships with either Johnny or Finn, not that either of those seemed to go anywhere this season anyhow. Johnny's gone and Finn's now seeing someone else - maybe she and Peter might be able to salvage something from the ruins of their marriage. I'm probably the only viewer alive who likes Peter and would quite enjoy seeing them together again.

And where does this leave the law firm now? Cary and Diane have been reduced to cameos this season (not to mention the huge David Lee sized gap) and Kalinda has been shunted off into the role of playing Bishop's son's babysitter.
Given this is her last few swansong episodes, it's such a shame to see her character reduced to that.
If anything, this episode just proved how much more interesting the 'secondary' characters are than Alicia herself. I kept wanting the action to move back to Diane's story arc, in which she was finally given something meaty (pun intended) to get her teeth in to. Good of the writers to finally throw her a bone this season.

After the excellence of Season 5, the writers had really better pull something spectacular out of the bag at the end of this one, because TGW has been steadily hemorrhaging viewers and it deserves so much better.

    Apologies for the long rant,

    A. Disappointed Good Wife fan :o

It's lost its way big time and I really don't see them pulling it back now. :(

I haven't watched the last 3 episodes...and I'm not sure I ever will. The support cast is what made The Good Wife, Alice is what will ruin it.

Will check out posts here if it improves.

last few weeks have been terrible looking at it I'm not the only one hoping she lost, I miss the quirky case of the week like chumhum altering searches, the scabbit bomber, not even original ideas ripped straight from life but done so well. Where will they go from here now I just don't know

    I thought Finn was married

I miss the courtroom drama and intrigue.
The show used to be more legal than political but it's the other way round this season.
She won the election so let's see what happens to Kalinda.....and call it a day.

He mentioned late last series or earlier this series, that he and his wife were separated. If he was married to me, I wouldn't let him go :p

I'm just hoping something happens to force Alicia to resign - maybe the Lemond Bishop campaign money may come back to bite her. Maybe she'll pull some strings to save Kalinda from being prosecuted by Geneva Pine and that'll cause a scandal. Whatever happens, I just hope the whole storyline falls through somehow.

i reckon she's going to get dirtier and dirtier till she's governor, virtually turning into her husband and thus ends the good wife

    I enjoyed that episode.
The 2 storylines running together were quite compelling and the fallout from the email hack was funny.
Oh and Eli Gold played a blinder this week! :D

    It was better episode alright.

The reason being for me it wasn't just about Alicia it had everyone involved in the story.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,007 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Where once Alicia was the strongest character and star of the show and the reason to watch that is now gone.

For me now she is the weakest character on the show and if she wasn't in it I don't think I would even miss her.

Another string also being pulled on Kalinda there are so many ways this could end bad for her.

Another strong episode, hopefully they'll keep the momentum going until the end of the season.
Poor Kalinda, maybe Robin can save her.
    Robin?....Robin?
    Has anyone seen Robin? :D

Agreed, I thought that was the last episode. Two more I think.

holy crap what can she do now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,007 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

The show is back on track now.

Right and royally shafted. Amazing how Peter was on hand to wipe away the tears. Most Governors don't give a monkeys who runs the lawyers - they do like nice senate majorities though. Should take Alicia a stiff G & T or two for that penny to drop.

Fairly racking up the tension now, but we'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see what happens.
Season finale (and last ever episode?) airs on April 26th.

One of the best episodes ever, and definitely one of the best from the last few seasons.
Wow, Peter is so Chicago! And Kalinda finally ran out of road...

    Corrupt.

Yup. Chicago is notorious for very corrupt politicians.
I read somewhere that Peter's character was allegedly/very loosely modeled on / similar to Rod Blagojevich, the former (Dem) Illinois state prosecutor and Governor who is now in jail on extortion and corruption charges.

that episode was good, i love how they left kalinda's exit, did she run again or did bishop get her?

when i saw the hole in the wall i assumed she ran, but then what was the significance of the hair brush? did it get left behind before she could run?

it looks like in the preview for the next episode that
Louis canning comes to Alicia's rescue by threatening lockhart, agos and lee
, not surprising considering those two have always had a connection.

i have to say i am surprised Finn or Johnny aren't there for her in her hour of need, johnny especially should have come back when the voting scandal hit if he really cared about her, and wasn't Finn cited as "the will replacement"? yet now he has the girlfriend we haven't seen and he's not exactly offering Alicia a job/partnership himself?

and Eli just hasn't been around these past few episodes, where is he with his "i'll handle this" mode.

i have to say while i am annoyed at Alicia being kicked to the ground YET AGAIN, life does have a tendency to do that to some people...

I for one have no sympathy for Alicia.

I really like the idea that she doesn't get a happy ending and I hope that's the way they go with it.

    So, who's behind the door?
    My guess is...Louis Canning.

If it's Will Gardner (faked death shenanigans) we're definitely watching sharks jumping over the moon.
