I don't see the point when he is hitting the other one so well. Don't think there is much difference between them though so he should have no problem adjusting to it.

Can't see the point myself, especially not at the Ryder Cup when the intense pressure could heighten even the tiniest of doubts he may have with it.
We've never seen anybody drive it as well as him of late, I can't see too many positives that can come from it.., he can't get much straighter or longer.

The off season is just around the corner, plenty of lesser tournaments to try out a new driver on.

Hmm lesser tournaments to try stuff out in..
Is it any different really to lets say... Ian Poulter and Bubba Watson getting the crowd singing and shouting while they hit a shot?

He has had his practice with it... I say bring it on....

McGinley is playing with peoples minds.......

    WEDNESDAY PRACTICE PAIRINGS
    USA –
JOHNSON, MAHAN, SIMPSON, WATSON will start at 0900 from TEE 9.
BRADLEY, FOWLER, MICKELSON, WALKER will start at 0915 from TEE 9.
FURYK, KUCHAR, REED, SPIETH will start at 1000 from TEE 1

    EUROPE –
McILROY, KAYMER, DUBUISSON, McDOWELL will start at 1030 from TEE 9.
POULTER, ROSE, GARCIA, STENSON will start at 1045 from TEE 9.
BJØRN, WESTWOOD, GALLACHER, DONALDSON will start at 1100 from TEE 9.

Westwood and bjorn out together in the fourballs. Send them out on a hiding to nothing!

Puts further thoughts into my Gallagher/Donaldson suggestions!

Can't see what point you're trying to make re Bubba and Poulter and how that compares to Rory changing a driver.

Poulter feeds off crowds at the Ryder Cup and that helps him elevate from an average golfer (compared to the other 23 players) into an excellent Ryder Cup player.
Rory can do no wrong with the driver of late, where's the big gain in changing it.

Can't see any positives that can come out of it. There may not be any negatives either but he's certainly leaving himself open to them.

As for practice, hardly ideal with him being wrecked after the FedEx and having some many other things going on this week. It's a strange move.

Par my thoughts would be that he's been testing it for ages. Rory knows people expect him to deliver so I don't think he's going to bring a gun to the battle that's not firing ;)

Doesnt need the driver anyways. He rips that 3 wood!
