    Hi guys,

I'm interested in a mini system with wifi plus speakers and cable, do you have any specials at the moment? Oh and I'd like something with a bit of power and scope to add a sub.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Neil,

Thanks for getting in touch :)

Have you got a budget in mind?

If it was me I'd look at the Marantz MCR610 paired up with the new Monitor Audio Silver 1 speakers.  This system is bulletproof and would sound great together!!  The Marantz ticks all the boxes and offers a lot more.  Check the links out below for more info:

    http://www.monitoraudio.co.uk/products/silver/silver-1

Both the Marantz and speakers come in different finishes :)

I could offer the above inc decent cable and delivery for just £960.99.

Let me know what you think.

    Chris

Nice setup there but more than I would like to spend on a mini system.
    I'd have a budget around £500.
I see the 510 marantz on special elsewhere for £199, how does this compare to your price?

Do you have any 2.1 speaker systems?

Oh, my broadband isn't great. Does Internet radio pull much bandwidth, I only have about 1meg.

I'll bump this as I didn't get a reply to my previous questions.

Are there any deals on the MCR610 and a 2.1 speaker package?
Back to the broadband, I've a slow connection so would there be an issue streaming Internet radio?

    Thanks.

    Hi NeilW.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Have a slow internet may cause streaming problems through any internet radio. In saying that what speed is your line? It would need to be very poor to cause serious problems with streaming them.

There are no 2.1 deals but plenty of 2.0 packs with the MCR610
    http://www.richersounds.com/search/mcr610
and then you could just add a sub starting from just £99.95 for the tannoy SFX subwoofer.

Let me know if any of the bundles listed in the link above would catch your eye and I can check stock for you.
Any questions please let me know.

Are any of the Cambridge audio minx speakers/sub on sale?
I wouldn't be interested in standard speakers with it so that rules out your 2.0 packs.

    I've 1meg broadband but I would doubt I'm getting 1meg tbh.

Another question, have your euro prices increased?

The marantz 610 is listed at £379 which is about €490 yet it's marked as €559 on the euro site.
Even taking into account free delivery on the euro site the price still doesn't tally.

Why is there such a difference?

    Neilw,

apologies for the delay getting back to you - if you have limited broadband I'd be careful about going for a unit that only has web radio and it can be really frustrating trying to stream and the output constantly buffering.

If you did want to try it you can just load an App like Tunein radio on your phone or pad and then also try to use another few web apps in your household at the same time - if it continues to stream okay then I would say you are safe ( you will also find that at certain times of the day your BB may go slower, ie between 18:30-23:00)

If you did want to go with something like the Marantz MCR510 with  the Cambridge Audio 2.1 system including:

The new Cambridge Audio Min22 Satellite speakers * 2:
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201035-minx-min22.aspx

    Cambridge Audio Minx X200 Subwoofer * 1
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-11117-minx-x200.aspx

The system including the MCR510 discounted is currently €869.96 - I can do a further discount to take it down to just €769.99 including delivery for you - however again that MCR510 only has web radio and no standard radio!

There are very few mini systems that have both web and standard radio tuners on board but you may be better going with a unit which has a dock or USB that allows you to connect a phone or pad to the unit and stream radio via your ancillary device whilst also having the benefit of a standard FM radio on board - I'd have a look at something like the Yamaha CRX550:
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-11115-crx550-black.aspx

Which is an excellent unit - if you wanted it again with the Min22 / X200 sub then it would work out at €729.99 or if you wanted to go for the Mordaunt Short M10 speakers http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200629-m10.aspx (which go really well with the CRX550) with the X200 then we can do the package reduced to €489.99 from €594.96

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist in any way and thanks again for the opportunity to quote,

Thanks for the reply John, just one point. It's the mcr610 I was interested in.

I'm downloaded tunein radio now to check.

No problem - just add £160 / €199 to any of the prices above if you wanted to opt for the MCR610 - however the MCR610 just adds a CD player and still doesn't have a built in FM tuner - so unless you can stream reliably you may be stuck with the same issue Id be a little cautious and stick to a system with an analogue tuner and let your web enabled devices do the streaming..
