    Hi there,
Does anyone know of a place that does turkey mince in south Dublin? Preferably close to Terenure/Rathmines or surrounding areas. Have checked both local butchers and the local Lidl. The butchers didn't have it and Lidl only have turkey breast.
    Thanks!

Butchers wouldn't normally have it unless it's pre-packed. This is because they have to use the same machine for beef mincing.

You can get it in Dunnes or Tesco pre-packed.

    Perfect!

Not sure about the current offerings, but in the past tesco had different turkey minces, some were breast and very low fat, others were thigh etc and were relatively high, like maybe 11% fat.

I say this as many people might switch to turkey mince as a lower fat/calorie alternative to beef, and the high fat one might not be what they are really after.

Have you tried an Aldi store? We get it there all the time.

    Meat factory in Ballymount - < 2% fat. 1KG for 7.50.

We buy all our meat there - 25 large chicken fillets also a good one (not these tiny ones you see with 10 for 10 euro) for 27.

Great shop and good lads working there.

    Moved from F&D.

This is fairly common & should be available in SuperValu, Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Dunnes, etc, etc...

Tesco have it..it's usually as dry as a bone and you'll need to add forcemeat yourself to make it palatable

Would it give you that information on the package? Is there anything that I should be looking out for or is it quite easy to see which meat is used?

No not yet. We have a Lidl in the village so I will have to pop up to the Aldi in Rathmines and see if I can see it there.

Lawlor's Butchers on Upper Rathmines Road do it, just ask them at the counter as it generally isn't displayed.

Ennis Butchers in Rialto do turkey burgers, they are not cheap but they're really tasty.
