Hi - Im wondering if anyone has had any experience with rural broadband providers in Kildare.

I live just outside Athy towards Kilkea and eircom bb is out of the question. I can go with DigiWeb but they have ridiculous download caps.

    Anyone got any other suggestions?
I was looking at Regional Broadband but not sure what they are like.

I also am a frequent gamer so low pings are a must!

I'm with Three on the NBS. It's crap but no alternative. I'm in Calverstown.

I think Ripplecom operate in the area.
No idea of the quality of the service.

You're kind of boned if you can't get DSL tbh. I get about 6Mb out of eircom (in Robertstown). There are a few available point-to-point or wireless providers, but the latency is ****e and their download caps are a joke.

Yeah I've done a bit of digging previously and while there are a couple of satellite type options they are either very expensive, have really poor latency, or very low download caps.

Our exchange was on a rollout list from around 2004 to 2007 to get enabled but as far as I know nearly every other exchange in Kildare was enabled except ours when Eircom ran out of money.
