    Hi LavaLamp.

    When a customer is moving address, they need to close their account (which can be reopened if they are continuing as an Electric Ireland customer in their new home). To close an account, the customer needs to take a meter reading on their last day (no earlier) and contact us as soon as possible with this reading and confirming the date they moved out.
    We would also require the name/telephone number of the landlord/lady or letting agency or the new/remaining tenant, as we will need a contact in case the property becomes disconnected by ESB Networks due to being vacant.
    Once the account closure is complete, a final bill for that address is issued, and it is for usage up to the point of the final meter reading. If the customer is not on online billing, we would require a forwarding address for this final bill.

    To reopen an Electric Ireland account, we would again require an up-to-date meter reading taken on moving in to the new address, and the electricity MPRN (meter point reference number) and/or GPRN (gas).

    We can complete the process here on Boards.
