Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do not update 8.0.1. Major problem

    Possible fix
f you've already installed the update and are experiencing these issues, a potential fix has arisen. Reinstalling iOS 8.0.1 through iTunes (and not via the over-the-air software update) apparently restores both cell service and Touch ID functionality. But that solution does no good for iPhone owners without immediate access to a PC or Mac

Oops. Installed it before I left the office (wifi). Luckily no problems since.

Had an issue with Siri randomly opening up after the update but it's stopped.

Touch ID didn't work initially but hard reset solved that.

Apple dropped the ball on this. I'd be annoyed if I had updated. They'd need to roll a fix out quick for people not too tech savvy.

Bad press lately for Apple, bend gate, the whole U2 non-issue and now this. Although I think the bigger deal should of been made of that botched live stream. That's the only thing that has affected me and should of been a huge deal :D

First streamgate, then U2gate, then bendgate, and now updategate.

All in the span of two weeks…

Their really is no excuse for Apple releasing bugs like this. They have a platform with controlled hardware environments unlike windows phone and android and you don't hear things like this happening every time a major version is released.

Apart from the botch, why update so soon? What were the intended fixes?

They had fixed the issue they had which caused them to pull health kit enabled apps on iOS 8.0

Here's the changelog I got when I saw the update

Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store

Addresses an issue where 3rd party keyboards could become deselected when a user enters their passcode

Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos from the Photo Library

Improves the reliability of the Reachability feature on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

Fixes an issue that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving SMS/MMS messages

Better support of Ask To Buy for Family Sharing for In-App Purchases

Fixes an issue where ringtones were sometimes not restored from iCloud backups

Fixes a bug that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari

At least they are still virus free.

Apple should have QC checked more thoroughly, again.

I was about to update when I saw there was an issue so the update is actually downloaded onto my phone and waiting for the install. How do I clear that so when the new update is released I can download it?

Yeah, but Watergate was 42 years ago so they had a good run.

I don't see any reference to an update in there unfortunately.

EDIT: Ignore that. I'm obviously blind.

Anyone know what this means for using iOS 8 before further fixes are applied? Are people being charged incorrectly for their SMSs, or?
