Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That's why you need 2.

Probably a fair result. Some goal.

Lovren has been heading clearances just outside the front of the box all game. Really poor defending.

    just rubbish....

Jags does that all the time in training you know.

Deflating. Liverpool deserved to win that game although not a huge amount in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

That was a terrible free kick....
    Nice skills from Barry though.

One of the sweetest goals I've ever seen hit. Sorry for Pool but magnificent strike.

Only ourselves to blame. Not taking chances

Where do you want him to head it?!? It was towards Phil Jagielka... i'd let him shoot from there all day. This was just the day it went in.

We played well enough today. Lack the cutting edge up front badly without Danny. Balo as a lone striker is just not up to scratch atm.

Missed chances in first half cost us, some goal by Jagielka though. The thread clown should be happy bless him.

    Great goal.

    Typical Liverpool defending.

Maybe that was what Moyes was trying to teach Rio & Vidic

We just couldn't kill them off. One goal isn't enough to rest and give the ball to them. The play when they were attacking well to pass it back with 20 minutes to go was really stupid.

  • Registered Users Posts: 149 ✭✭Biddy_61

Liv didn't finish the game off. We needed 2nd goal. Not great by pool.

Everton got out of jail. Completely outplayed. Great strike though.

One and only time Jagielka will score a goal like that. Sums up this frustrating season thus far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 630 ✭✭✭hadoken13

Gonna be another long season for Liverpool, just can't close out matches. First half performance was poor. Only started playing at 1 up and in the last 10 minutes got too conservative. Cracking goal for the draw though.

true. they should've been out of sight with the play we had

"Never fails to disappoint when it comes to moments of drama."

That should be the tagline for every game where Owen is commentating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Should have won that. Had by far the better chances. Can't do anything about the goal though. 4 goalkeepers wouldn't have saved it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭PhiloCypher

How many injury time goals have we conceded so far this season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

When your luck it out. He could do that 100 times over and never repeat that. Really poor to draw with a very average side like Everton.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,655 ✭✭✭Royal Legend

Players still finding their feet, but I thought Brendan made a bad decision, instead of closing up shop, he brings on a forward and an attacking midfielder.

poor poor poor, that space just out side the front of the area was there all day for Everton

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Nope but letting them have the ball for the last ten minutes of the game made it a lot easier for them.

Why couldn't Mignolet just try to protect his face?!

The only thing missing from that goal was Jags' celebration involving running to Gerrard cupping his ears!!!

    Ge the **** in!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,591 ✭✭✭baldbear

Sickener but an improvement. Lallana was good. Can't wait for Sturbridge to get back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

It was coming, not necessarily a Jagielka wonder strike, but still.

One goal out of 15 or so attempts isn't good enough at all, should have had that game finished much earlier.

Fair result, home team slightly shaded it but you expect that really.

I think on balance 1-0 Liverpool was a fair result, missed opportunities once again

We're both average sides right now.

Don't know why people are blaming poor defending for a wonder strike.

Balotelli's miss is the big one. Take that chance and it's game over.

Just not as clinical as last season. Sturridge needed back asap.

    .

That's the thing. It didn't feel like it was coming. Everton weren't really creating any chances. Just a rocket out of the blue.

Ya i think so, LFC deserved the win. Everton were completely toothless on the break and were completely negated by Liverpool. Lukaku was completely marked out of the game. I cant think of one genuine decent attempt from them all game.

Feels like a loss. Completely undeserved from Everton but at 1-0 up theres always a chance for the opposition.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 907 ✭✭✭tibor

Lallana busting a gut pressing in the 90 minute as Lambert just looks on before Everton switch the play in the lead up to the goal. So frustrating. After the combination of the performance against Boro and his lazy few mins today I'd not have Lambert anywhere near the squad for the next while. At least with Borini you know you'll get the pressing and runs in the channels, Lambert gives the team nothing.

Moreno also lets Browning turn back easily and put the initial cross in without a challenge. Lazy.

Some finish though. That's one goal we can't really point fingers at Mignolet for.

I don't think it was coming myself. Everton were shocking going forward creating nothing. It needed something special like that. I thought the back 4 was very comfortable.

The ball would probably go through his hands and take his head off.

The bottom line is we're not clinical and we're incapable of shutting down games.
