The few words trailer remains my favourite piece of ski porn but I don't like that, too much special effects such that I don't know what he's actually skiing, sound is a bit annoying too. The guy is such a legend there's no need to jazz him up just show us the skiing.

There's a vimeo video I'd highly recommend called following chris which is similar to that but no camera tricks.

Regarding the insurance - the underwriters came back with the exact same response "the policy covers off piste skiing except in areas designates as unsafe by local resort management unless you are ... accompanied by a locally qualified guide"

    Shower of winkers.

Typical. Now just forget about the technicalities and go and enjoy your trip. In reality, there is only one way to find out what they will & won't cover, and you don't want to do that!! :-)

I might just get the local off piste cover though, Les Arcs is supposed to be great for it, so it would be a shame not to.

Just over 24 hours to go! O to the M to the G

Bought a new pair of boots last week on eBay, got text off Parcel Motel an hour ago to say they couldn't be delivered as the card associated with my account has expired, and the balance wasn't sufficient. So just topped it up, cutting it tight. Dear God, please let them be delivered tonight, so I can be at peace with the world.

Cormee, might be worth calling them they usually have them on tracking numbers and have more detail than you can get when tracking online. Or if you're in Dublin and they are in the main depot (in Finglas I think) you could rock over and collect them yourself.

Yep, called them to sort out the card issue, he said they will be delivered either tonight or (cringe) Monday.

Even if I do get them tonight I'll have to do the whole heat moulding thing with them, really cutting this one fine.

No chance of just being able to grab them from the depot?

At work all day so I wouldn't make it over there in time. I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

I'm going again in March so I will have them for that trip at least, and my current boots are fine, I just got this new pair as they have a smaller footprint, in order to (hopefully) fix a small overhang issue on the board.

Yep, conditions look very promising. 15 cm forecast for tonight, a few more tomorrow, then for the rest of the week a few more cm forecast each night. Would be almost perfect conditions if that pans out, but the forecasts change from hour to hour.

I'll take the ideal skiing/boarding conditions over the paragliding!

Boots are in Parcel Motel. All systems go, repeat; all systems go.

Simple ask the question, if their is no safety designation for the are of off piste am I covered!

The answer will probably be No so at least you know, yep local insurance is a good idea Eh111 does not cover evac which is the most expensive part €10,000 for most heli Evacs!

Thankfully weather is changing, and snow is coming Physio confirmed I will be back on skis on 7-10 days :)

You'll have to get the toboggan out

The other half is in La Clusaz on a freebie from work. It was raining yesterday morning, but they've had 20cm+ in the last 12 hours and it's still coming down.

Looks epic, do they come down normal slopes or mtb trails?
