Its apparent people are more upset that Trump said anything, than actually any of the points he raises.

Any examples or evidence to support this bizarre conclusion?

your right I dont have any evidence of Trumps detractors posting anything substantive in the last few days, other than their posts on what he might have said or what a Trump supporter said.

So yeah your right theres no evidence Trumps detractors post anything relating to US economy, world economy , social inequality, opaite abuse, national security or US relations with despots.

I can see clearly now some posters base their decision on what a candidate will SAY and at the same time ignore larger geo-political and social issues, probly too busy still playing with their xmas presents I expect.

If you want people to discuss what Trump has said or his policies why don't you put up some content and let people debate.

That would be more constructive than posting about people still playing with their Xmas presents!

I knew youd come to agree with me, that Trumps detractors live off main stream media soundbites and dont discuss policy , maybe theres hope for this forum yet.

The thread is over 3k posts, if you want a debate, you can go back and find when Trump's policies were discussed at length, quote some of the posts and debate away.

Over a half-million citizens have signed a petition to have Donald Trump permanently travel-banned from entering the UK based upon controversial statements he has made in various venues recently; e.g., Trump proposed US Muslim ban. Such petitions by UK citizens have been debated in Parliament, and bans have occurred by the Interior Minister for undesirable persons. If banned, Trump threatened to withhold 700 million pounds in golf course investments. Realistically, the Trump ban is very unlikely, but the debate on the floor may be interesting to watch.

Clinty promised to reveal the truth about UFO's if elected. But claimed also not to actually know what the truth was. Bill also had meeting with one of the Rocker fellas who wanted to release all classified ufo files which arises some suspicion.

All sounds like a bad idea or concept mix-up from a junior member of the marketing dept, during a blue sky meeting. Probably aimed at the Don fans who want to start building the wall to keep out the other aliens.

Agreed, just therefore an empty sales pitch, on a par (or below) with the promise of building of a great continental wall and entry temporary based on subjects faith choice. Although these both have some support, and much more chance of happening.

Probably for the best anyway, that not many folks know that the last chap to walk on the moon confirmed 'santa claus' was there watching them. Or global re-occurring reports of farmers having their animals interfered with, in most unusual ways after seeing lights in the sky, could just be lighting though...

    She was already SecDef.

    Obama promised similar things.

Nothing will come of it. It's an empty 'trail promise.

Trump overbooked this event by issuing 20,000 tickets for a venue that seated 1,400. That's 14 tickets per seat, at minimum.

At it, Trump reacted to a Heckler by instructing the crowd/security to remove the protestors coat and throw him out into "-10 degree" cold. It can hardly be dismissed as a joke when he has had people beaten up at his rallies because of his rhetoric (new posters can re-read the thread, I previously covered that).

It's a telling sign that Trump really doesn't give a flying **** about people's personal liberties - if you disagree with me, you can have your stuff stolen, I don't care. Yeah he's really President material.

He's doing a fantastic job of alienating all the voter bases he needs to win this election. In this case, the Independents and Libertarians.

He didnt overbook it, its standard practice for rallys like this to give out more tickets than a venue holds , so you ensure a full house.
Then its up to people to get their early if they want a seat, which most people did.

To weed out anti-Trump hecklers, every entrant was asked to pledge support to Trump, so this heckler obviously lied to gain entry.

It was the local law enforcement officers who removed the hecklers, again standard practice for ANY political rally where a handful are disrupting a lawful gathering.

Vermont is a blue state, was once a Republican stronghold but since the 90s has been overwhelmingly DEMOCRAT .

It was interesting Trump chose to even hold a rally in Vermont. Is he just interested in getting the republican delegates or is their a bigger play, is there dis-enchantment in the liberals that live there and Trump things he can make some inroads in a Democrat state.

Whatever you do dont let the facts get in the way of a a major presedential issue like a Trump soundbite about some dudes coat. To paraphrase that movie line, "you want the truth, you cant handle the trump"

But having said all this , obviously the most important item to discuss is that Donal Trump flippantly told a law enforment officer to keep the coat that some heckler who lied to get into his rally left behind.

Some people vote based on what a candidate SAYS, and I guess some other people vote on what a candidate does with your coat.

Looking at NBC's take. "But the protesters interrupted Trump throughout his remarks, prompting him to joke that staff should "confiscate the coats" before sending the them into the frigid Vermont night".

Difference between a joke and instructions to security.

I watched a show last night about the Heroin explosion in Cape Cod , very sad lots of young lives ruined and families ruined.

Colonialboy I dont know if you're being deliberately ignorant or you just dont get how Boards works or what but all the candidates economic and policy proposals have been discussed in depth over multiple pages in this thread and others and now its just chat while people wait for the next developments, you seem to have hopped on board a couple of days ago and are now pretending the last 4-5 pages of this thread are the sum total of the discussion here, its an easy strawman argument to make when you're looking for lazy reasons to insult people I suppose.

Because this voiced intention was there from the early days, even when the Clints where the 'actual government', and nothing ever came from it, nor will it. Read the article link. A few token low-class FOI files on records of sightings but that's all. Pure sales talk to a specific market segment.

Warren Buffet , big supporter of the Clintons.

so how does he make his CASH . Why explointing the new poor, those that fell out of the market during the housing crash , expanding his trailer park empire. own the lumber company , own the trailer manufacturer, own the trailer park, or swindle the purchaser out of their own land, own the mortgage company .. the perfect trap.

500Million profit in 2015 ..Some call it capitalism , I call it 500Million dollars of bull****.

dont worry folks 'yes we can ' .

But heh I know on going predatory lending is not an important issue in the US .
I heard Trump once borrowed a guys gloves and never gave them back now thats somethign we need to discuss... .

"The Clints" were never the "actual government". Can you be more specific about who "voiced this intention"?

You have access to the files and know there is secret stuff or what? Or are you saying there is nothing to see here?

Either way, what exactly is your beef with Hillary saying that she will put everything out there?

Billy at the Rock'Initiative '95 wanted to release the files, but never did, even when running the show.

Of course any serious data would be above them, and thus not in their immediate interest, nor for the wider public, apart form specific scenarios.

Thus any promise to release files and comply with the disclosure project folks is 'pure cheap promotional campaigning at certain market segments'. A case of 'mis-spoken' comments again perhaps...

You seem fairly certain our planet has been visited if you're accusing the Clintons about lying about releasing the data, have you any evidence to back up your conviction?

Planned Parenthood has endorsed Clinton for the Democratic nomination. I'm interested to see what, if any, kind of impact this might have - judging from the social media reaction, it's causing huge controversy among their members, many of whom felt that they shouldn't have endorsed anyone at all and in particular citing Clinton's hesitation in condemning that anti-PP propaganda video last year.

Lot of pessimism among Sanders supporters over this on their own forum, but based on the comments directed at PP from self-declared PP members and supporters, I'm not sure if they really have anything to worry about.

Regarding the overbooking "just to fill the place" this "standard practice" usually involves a 2:1 or 3:2 ticketing policy, not 14:1.

Donald Trump tweeted the venue had a 25,000 person crowd in attendance.

    https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/685285573943279616

And as an aside: this pic?

    CYKfl1CWwAAAaMH.jpg

Idk if you've been to a football game or anything recently, but that's not indicative of a 25k person crowd. I've seen pictures of bigger crowds to see a Star Wars premiere. The guy has helicopters and **** right? A secretary who could pilot a toy drone? He couldn't get a better shot of a 'yooge crowd? Hmmm...

    During the event,
    Trump wrote:
"There's like 20,000 people — we can't get them in," Trump said. "So you are very, very lucky."

Of those "like 20,000 people", most were turned away for failing a loyalty test at the door. Heil.

Burlington Police were quick to point out that only about 2,000 people showed up, and a count of ~700 protesters.

    http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/news/2016/01/07/trump-campaign-lumbers-into-vermont/78375274/

And when trying to ensure capacity, why filter out so many people? If you're trying to make inroads in Bernie's state, you know, sway Bernie supporters and independents, why bar independents and supporters from attendance? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2016/01/07/b1625522-b573-11e5-a842-0feb51d1d124_story.html
To get one of 1,400 seats at Donald Trump’s rally here Thursday night, hundreds and hundreds of people waited for hours in the cold and then had to answer a question like this: Do you support Donald Trump?

Anyone who did not answer with some version of “yes” was not allowed inside. That included undecided voters and those simply looking to learn about Trump’s positions. And anyone showing any trace of supporting Bernie Sanders — the former mayor of this liberal town who is now a Democratic presidential candidate — was definitely not allowed in.

To add more sadness to the turnout, the police previously said they planned on a larger crowd - all of 6,500 people, when less than half that showed up.
The Burlington Police Department expected about 6,500 people to show up — still far more than the number of seats in the small theater.

The Heil-Trump loyalty test and the dramatic overbooking were taken to some pretty pointed criticism by Burlington's mayor too:
“Seeing Mr. Trump himself apparently tweeting that they’re going to take care of their own tonight, that doesn’t sound like the words of a president to me,” Weinberger said. “If he were elected president I’d hope he would understand that he’s got a responsibility to all Americans, whether they agree with him or not.”

Weinberger said he found it “pretty distasteful” for the Trump campaign to overbook the event, to encourage as large a crowd as possible, and then not communicate “in any way” how people would be treated at the door.

“I don’t think this is the way a serious campaign that cares about the community it’s coming into would conduct itself,” Weinberger said.

Weinberger added that he believed the lack of organization and communication by the Trump campaign resulted in higher costs for the city and more disruption to local businesses. He said the campaign would be billed for the full cost to the city for handling the event, and that it would run into the thousands of dollars.

“I’ll be here until the crowd has left and the situation is under control,” Weinberger said. “Then I’ll go home and get some sleep.”
"We have more than 20,000 people that showed up for 1,400 spots,” Trump said in a statement to the Burlington Free Press. “I'm taking care of my people, not people who don't want to vote for me or are undecided. They are loyal to me, and I am loyal to them."

The Trump campaign has the legal right to refuse admittance to anyone, Burlington Police Chief Brandon del Pozo said.

“They have the right to say who’s trespassing in violation of their lease agreement, so when people are asked to leave, police escort them out,” the chief told the Free Press. He said that campaigns remove people from events “all the time” who they do not wish to have attend.

Jess Kell of Burlington was among those denied access Thursday night to the Flynn. She waited on line with a ticket, but once she made it through the first set of doors, well-dressed campaign staff wearing Trump lapel pins began to question her, she said.

“They are asking people if they’re Trump supporters,” she said. “I said, ‘I’m here to learn and listen and observe,’ and they said, ‘This is a private event, and only supporters may come in.’ And then they had the police escort me out the door. There was no chance to ask questions.”

Kell’s son, 17-year-old Burlington High School student Phineas Totten, also had a ticket to the event and arrived sporting a Donald Trump campaign button. When the Trump staff asked about his loyalty, Kell recounted, “He said, ‘Look at my button.’”

    Totten was allowed inside.
Meanwhile, Flynn Center Executive Director John Killacky said the Trump campaign violated its agreement with the venue by handing out signs, which the campaign had promised not to do. A Trump staffer in turn accused the Flynn of being pro-Bernie Sanders, the Democratic presidential candidate and former mayor of Burlington.
Re: "Coatgate", Trump was even corrected on his basic temperature skills
"It's about 10 degrees below zero outside," Trump said.

    The temperature was 25.
Below Zero != Below Freezing, in Fahrenheit. :)
