    Well it wouldn't be entertaining TV if they all had perfect business plans. And somehow they still end up on the day not knoing basics like their projected turnover, or in the case of Jordan last year, the actual rules of the competition.

    I don't know about that. After the interview for my current job, I felt like I'd been ripped a new one. Every little slip-up I made, and every gap or inconsistency on my CV was probed, and I felt like I was going to go home empty handed.

    The technique is not very nice, but it does tell the interviewer how you handle being pushed out of your comfort zone and being asked awkward questions. If it's all smiles and easy answers, and then you don't get the job, you can be left feeling "what if they'd just questioned me to the limits of my knowledge and competence, would I have got it then?"
