Most people these days tend to have the First Communion party at home and hire the bouncy castle, catering, etc for the day.

The Woodlands in Adare is venue that I've heard cater for this kind of thing.

God be with the days when the whole family would pack into the escort and drive around to all the relations and friends arriving home at around midnight with a slightly worse for wear dad behind the wheel:o

What about a rugby/gaa clubhouse? Plenty of space outside for bouncy castles.

Millenium centre in caherconlish does it, full 4 course meal (starter, main, dessert, coffee) or buffet and bouncy castle in the room. Playground outside too, they'll open the bar if you like or bring your own wine.

I have friends planning for communions and confirmations next year. Some of them had so much trouble finding venues as they were booked up so early. Lots of people now opt to have a big party outside of their own homes, bouncy castles, ice cream vans and all that kind of thing. GAA clubs, community halls and hotels seem to be the norm with people who book outside spaces.
