point is, are these humorous or racist? what side of the fence are you on? we often see these kindve things played out in social media in the form of memes and vines and to be honest I would find them harmless and quite funny, so long as they don't promote hatred or intolerance.

Believing in these generalisations demonstrates a limited mind unable to conceive of people as individuals with diverse personalities.

Blacks (and Latinos) are over-represented in the poorest sections of American society so the cliches about prison, single parent families and diet do have a grounding in reality. Like all stereotypes do.

as mentioned in some posts, this looks more like a demographic stereotype,which in this case happens to be that of a poor area/city in US. So it happens in this case of the stereotypes, is that these areas have predominantly black people living in them.

imo US Media is the only one to blame for this stereotype.

What's so hate-mongering about saying black people tend to love fried chicken/Kool Aid/watermelon though? Even if it's a stereotype moreso of people in the Deep South, it's not like it's saying something terrible about black people, and it's not like there's anything wrong with these foods anyway.
Shaniqua and those kinda names do seem to be more popular among black women.

It is hate-mongering for sure to say black men don't care about their children, but the other stuff... yeh I do think it seems like faux outrage (and I normally hate that phrase and think it's pretty arrogant to say you can read people's minds) to get bothered by it.
