Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

But yet out free kick delievery is decent

I think we're aiming for a man at the near post, cause as far as im concerned any professional footballer can cross a ball

Yeah, their man. We always hit him too :pac:

    :)

Haha!! That stat is bullcrap in fairness. I remember a few in the last few games that did actually make it past the first defender!!! I didn't say anything came from it, but we did clear the first defender.

Aiming at the near post is a bad tactic.

If you aim for the six yard box and get it wrong, you can still score from it. Over hit it and somebody can get onto it at the far post or somebody on the edge of the box can latch onto it. Under hit it and a near post flick on like the ones Mertesacker loves. You leave yourself a margin for error so that if you get it wrong, you can still score a goal.

There is a tiny margin for error for fizzing it into the near post which is why you see so many hit the first man. I brought up this point in the United thread a month or two ago when Di Maria hit 3 corners in a row at the first man in the space of 5 minutes in a game and of course the United fans jumped on me but the point stands.

It's one of the many things some professional coaches teach that is just plain wrong. Logic, common sense and statistics back up that assertion. Varying it up to be unpredictable is fine.....aiming there every time is stupidity.

Why is Wenger so stubborn?? 160 corners yet we still go there every game

We have scored from corners this season. Against Burnley and Galatasaray (Ramsey's wonder strike)

Anyone else think Giroud had some hot action lined up and wanted some time off?

No, he's never as handsome as he is when he's scoring a goal.

Bad bad bad. Cazorla the only player any good at retaining possession. Rosicky injured?

    Look away now.

(Or put money on downing to score)

And as for Coquelin and Flamini? Frightening. We can all see the obvious pitfalls, but let's see how this pans out before we implode/explode!
