Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Happy New Year to all Gunners fans and others too.

Backing Arsenal to win 2 -- 1 tomorrow at Southampton. Alexis first goal.
Start the New Year off with a few bob.

Worth mentioning Gilberto left the same Summer as Flamini IIRC.

On Diarra I would never ever sign him, he sounds like absolute poison. Anyone who read Diego Torres' book on Mourinho at Real will know that. It seems Jose absolutely loved Diarra as a player and wanted to essentially build the Madrid team around him from midfield but Lass just didn't particularly like Jose and acted the absolute boll*x during his time there. At the end of the day if you're deemed good enough for Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid but end up playing football in Moscow at the age of 29 there has to be something seriously wrong with your attitude.

Absolutely genius move financially when Wenger signed Diarra on a free and sold him 5 months later for 6 mil

If so then Walcott is still injured and we're being spun some yarn as Wenger said he was fit.
I expect to see Ox or Rosicky on the left, Walcott on the right and Sanchez up front if Welbeck is out.

I'd love to see Sanchez up front with Walcott and Pod wide.

Sanchez's ability to cut inside a defender and tee up someone would be amazing if he were just setting up Pod's left foot.

Going from his interview I think walcott will start on Sunday

And pod stormed out of training.

    Have we any players left?

Might be time to give Coq and Chambers a job together in front of the back four then. OR Coq and Ox.

Would prefer Rosicky with Coquelin. Ox will probably be on right unless he feels Walcott is ready to start.

I doubt highly that Pod buys any of the rags, but his much fabled Twitter account was plastered with questions about the mirror's story this morning... Pod being Pod, he had to reply to his followers #AHA

.....and Jack's tweet pictured with Pod and Flamini just now confirms its going to be an interesting line up today.

What way will we line up

    Same back 5

    Coq
    Rosicky cazorla

    Ox. Campbell Sanchez

Id rather see walcott instead of Campbell, we will see

Yeah Sanchez will more than likely be in the centre seeing as Campbell and ox can play on both wings.

Here's a list of 10 players on a free in the summer. Would like khedira, wages might be an issue though

@Arsenal: Arsenal XI v Southampton: Szczesny, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Coquelin, Chambers, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Rosicky, Alexis

This is a big risk, could backfire horribly.

    Probably no other option.

Still no sign of Walcott and I wonder why.
He was due back a month ago.

Interesting comment from Jerry Flannery (ex irish intl rugby player... now strength and conditioning coach at Arsenal) in last weekends irish Examiner.

he said when he arrived first at Arsenal he was surprised by how poor the gym facilities were at Arsenal.
Things have imprved since with more focus and a new facility , but thats only recently.

Thought we had the best training facility in England.

Happy New Year everybody, hope you are all well and enjoy watching our favorite team!!

    Interesting starting 11, indeed.
Feels like we gonna play it very safe and go for a narrow win.

    Chambers at DM excites me

Always keen to see him there....I will however be shocked beyond comprehension if he doesn't get a yellow card if not two! He manages enough at RB and DM is challenging in that regard.

Hopefully he surprises me on the yellow card front as he looks a fine footballer in every area and he is young so the discipline will grow.

Injured/Unavailable midfielders & strikers: Flamini, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshire, Ozil, Pod, Welbeck, Giroud, Sanogo.

Look at our bench - it's astounding.

A yellow is nailed on without doubt

Walcotts been on the bench weeks now it's a strange one

Very interesting line up not sure how confident I am!!

Chambers at DM is exciting but he needs to show discipline beyond what he has shown so far

Wenger said he's fit but not competitive yet. I imagine the plan was to give him some game time in the last couple of matches late on in the games but because they both ended up being so close he'd couldn't do that. He hasn't played a competitive game in almost literally a year he can't just start him without any game time beforehand.
