Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Are we short???

    Giroud
    Welbeck
    Cambell
    Sanchez & Walcott

Welbeck and Cambell are unproven. Sanchez and Walcott are better attacking midfielders than strikers. As good as Giroud is we will never win the league with him as our main striker. We need a 30 goal a season striker to be considered contenders. Chelsea have Costa this season whereas Liverpool lost Saurez in the summer and are struggling. Even though Liverpools defence was shocking last season they were still contenders going into last game of season.

Like going into the season with 6 senior defenders?

Every position across the back 4 should have cover. Thats 8 defenders. If you think 6 defenders is sufficient for a full season your kidding yourself and are probably happy finishing 4th every season.

Twitter is alive with rumours about Khedira for 11 million and Cavani for 56 million!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,605 ✭✭✭yipeeeee

I'm disappointed we haven't had any signings in yet. I really think these things should be ready to go the moment the window opens, that extra month of having a player could be worth 3-4 points, which is an awful lot when things are tight.

I think everyone will be very pissed off by this window when we sign a backup CB and nobody else, couldn't imagine us splashing out much.

What player is realistically available that would move or isn't cup tied.

Hate to say it but we will probably get better quality in the summer.

True, they conceded 50 goals last season. Thats why we need more defensive cover and top class striker.

I've only seen the Transfer News Site twitter saying Khedira to Arsenal for 11 but they talk absolute nonsense most of the time.

West Ham have brought in a Canadian defender. In readiness for Winston Reid's departure perhaps ?

Is that confirmed? Interesting alright if true, West Ham are therwise well stocked for central defenders are they not?

Great to see Walcott start would have liked Alexis rested but options probably not there.

Coq is getting more game time than most for a guys time that was over 4 weeks ago

Agree with you regarding Alexis, would have preferred him on the bench and come in if needed during second half.
I guess with our next game on Sunday, he will have an extra day to recover.

True it just feels like we are flogging him at the minute, doesn't get subbed much either.

Probably need him for the win, anyone see the bench? Hull have 10 changes

Nothing to worry about here, chaps. Hull will be put to the sword in an exciting fashion.

    Come on Arsenal!

Over playing players and them getting injured isn't our style.

Hummels, Khedira and Cavani would be nice.

I'd love a Ferrari in my driveway and 6 months holidays twice a year. Its about as likely to happen as us signing any of those players.

Can none of our defenders jump?
Monrael didn't get off the ground there against Mc Shane.

We are very easy to defend against.

Need to bring back counter attacking football.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

I know Coquelin was lucky there, but I love to see that bite in a midfielder. I really like the look of our new DMF!!!

Same with Mertesacker. For a guy that big its like he has cement in his boots.
