Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Despite what we'd like to believe Coq is championship level

    True that.

Something I just thought of, will someone be given the number 9, as Podolski left.

He's only gone on loan so I'd presume his squad number is still assigned to him. Anyways I'd very much doubt players would change squad numbers mid season.

Great night in Dublin, a bit delicate now so train home and watch the guys on the net flaked out on couch.

    Arsenal 2-0 Stoke
    Giroud
    Sanchez

Ah, didn't know Flamini was fit again.

    That's good.

He had a couple of Arteta-esque +95% passing games before his injury.

    Could be important.

    Flamini
    Ox/Rosicky
    Walcott - Caz - Sanchez
    Giroud

The way Cazorla had been playing, I think that's fair enough. Personally I think MO will start on the bench

Id rather he didnt play than be on the left tbh. Agreed Santi deserves today but has to be Ozil centrally against City next week.

Delighted Ospina gets his chance. Well deserved. Hopefully makes it his own now.

@Arsenal: Arsenal team to play Stoke: Ospina, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky, Cazorla, Alexis, Giroud

Few players who could change the game on the bench, but hopefully it doesn't come down to needing them to do so :D

What's up with Welbeck he's never injured and this his 3rd game out? Has he got the Arsenal already

    The bench is very encouraging

I'd prefer if it gives Scz a kick up the arse to improve.

position is up for grabs. Scz is not indisputably better, Ospina could be a step up for all we know.

Yup could be. My worry is with his height and is he up for the physical side of the league. No greater test than today. If he plays well, its his for the foreseeable future

Why did Sky bother starting this at 12:30 if they didn't have a fcukin clue what to do with this for an hour

Hoddle calling Ospina "the young lad" even though he's two years older than Szcz...

Centre back that can play right back is the wish now in Jan. Debuchy could be out for a while and i dont trust Bellerin or Chambers in the bigger games.

What a bloody goal! How the hell did he do that?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,752 ✭✭✭Mr Blobby

    Best player in the league.
    Honestly he is.

A random thought that popped into my head just now, All the bogey teams we've had down through the years Blackburn, Bolton, Coventry and to a lesser degree West Ham and Leicester they've all had spells or still down there in the football league

When the **** are we going to see the back of these trolls !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,752 ✭✭✭Mr Blobby

You can tell when your teams just played Stoke. One player is in the dressing room having an X Ray and the other has got staples in his eye.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

They're a horrible shower alright. Great to see Must back, and happy with Bellerin when he came on. Coq improves again, though in fairness he wasn't up against much today.Missed about 25 mins of the 1st half, but what I did see was mighty impressive. Good confidence booster before City game… Theo will need to go to a blacksmith though, brutal attempt when put through by Alexis!

But what a man Alexis is. Words fail me.

Now its time to start ****ting myself for City.

    Kicking, crosses

Really didn't like the look of him

Good save at the end mind

He looked fine to me. And not conceding is a good sign.

You're just nitpicking imo, he looked absolutely fine and kept a clean sheet. Wouldnt have a problem seeing him fielded against city.

Ha ha I won a few quid back on Sanchez being last scorer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,480 ✭✭✭✭cson

Sczesney's distribution is better than Ospina's based on todays game anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

    Sanchez 18 (12)
    Welbeck 7 (4)
    Giroud 6 (5)
    Ramsey 6 (3)
    Cazorla 5 (4)
    Podolski 3(0)
    Ox 2(1)
    Koscielny 2 (2)
    Gibbs 1 (0)
    Wilshere 1(1)
    Ozil 1(1)
    Chambers 1 (1)
    Debuchy 1 (1)
    Arteta 1 (0)
    Sanogo 1(0)
    Rosicky 1(1)
    Mertersacker 1 (0)

Goals scored (League goals in brackets)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

That goals total is starting to look like RVPs last season with us

Nonsense, sczcesny's distribution is one of the worst in the league. Ospina for me for next 10 games, see what he's made of

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

    Another thing I noticed today

    Cazorla played the "8"

    Rosicky the "10"

So I guess all that arguing we done about cazorla or Ozil was a waste of time

Best I've seen arsenal play this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

Any word on Matty's injury yet? They said on Sky that they'd hear from Wenger at full time because he was getting a X Ray straight after going down the tunnel...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,828 ✭✭✭gosplan

    I hate premiership refs.

Stoke have absolute disregard for the safety of the Arsenal players and nothing ever happens to them during the game.

    Sanchez headlock
    Debuchy into hoardings
    Giroud stamp

All in the last year and nothing doing.

But Chambers sent off rediculously softly. 3 fouls and two yellows.
