Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Youd swear by your post that Arsenal were a struggling league 1 side with no billionaires of their own to run the club.

Fifth highest net spend over five seasons, or so Google tells me. Paupers...

They are the only two that would get into Chelsea side atm that's 9v2

We could of signed Cahill or another top centre back to partner Kos, we were close to buying him before Chelsea.

We could of signed Matic from Košice.

We could of signed Hazard before he went to Chelsea, Wenger said he was too expensive.

I don't think its a personnel issue anyway, if Wenger and Mourinho swapped teams I don't think Chelsea would be as good a team and Arsenal would be a much better team.

Mourinho would sort out the defence quickly and we have plenty in attack to win the league.

theyre also not grocers, theyve enough money to spend should it be needed but Wenger, for some reason seems reluctant to spend to strengthen areas where it was needed, thats a failing IMO.

We were bad for a few years but were not as bad as City right now.

Ah right I suppose we all have different opinions. Id have Walcott over Hazard which would probably earn me a lifetime ban from this forum :pac:

That's cos FFP is here and Roman is under more scrutiny with his money since his mate Vlad started invading sovgein states

Same way id have oscar over mata.

Matas a better play maker, like Ozil but Oscars a more complete player IMO and suits or way of playing and pressing better.

It's the league position after 38 games that counts

Yup I suppose it depends on the team. Yee have the creativity from Fabregas, we dont have much that offers us that so need a playmaker at #10.

8 down on last year so we are on course to fall well short of 4th.

Weve been making in roads into complying with ffp for a good few seasons now, im all for it but its not going to change the market place.

Mouninho would get the best out of Ozil like he did in Madrid.

Ozils world class, no doubt though.

But oscar cesc and matic as a 3 man midfield axis is pretty impressive and play well together.

id still rather cesc at 10 and Oscar next to matic.

He wasn't, he had a few good games, he was slated one night on sky where I and a few good others (and cont writers) thought he'd a decent game

Our debt is being managed. Cash reserve is there to be spent however the club see necesary. Maybe the owners have more £3M payments to themselves in mind so they're keeping it for that.

If I didn't know you better efb I'd think you were trolling the thread with the nonsense you're talking.

I just hope that when he does go

Cash reserves are needed for liquidity - you can't clear it out!

Ozil for me, one of the best #10's in the world. Wenger will stick him out wide though and everyone will say he is dirt.

We have 108.9 million to spend not £207.9 million, poor us.

    Net £53m on new transfers
Liabilities of £29m still to pay on previous transfers
£17m of performance-related costs we expect to have to pay on top of that
    Total: £99m
    Leaves us with 108.9m

Actually with the way the season is going we'll have an extra £17m on top of that because there will be no performance-related costs.

How do you know he hadn't been trying to sign them???

Why would players come to arsenal ahead of city Chelsea etc...

Christ, if that was the attitude, why bother at all. Why did bergkamp come all those years ago. That's a ridiculous argument. Scneiderlin was available if pushed and plenty of mid table CB's that would have been an improvement on a makeshift one.

Free roaming role from the left. When he gets used to the league, centre forward for me though.

    You have ten left.

It does if you spent more money than every person in the city, bar four others.

It's relative to others, that's how you define what wealthy means.

But you are assuming he didn't try- he might not have been successful in the market no one is going to come out and say that

I agree we need a CB and a DMF

Yes if he treats the club with fairness and doesn't drag it out for another 3-5 yrs. I hope he sits himself down and decides what's best for the club before it turns into a full on fans push.

In an ideal world Arsenal fans would love him to turn this around back to his best and us competing. Watch his outfox Mourinho, Pellegrini etc. and be the best. It's not impossible but unless things change soon the end could be very rough.

If everthing is based on final league position, then why do any clubs fire managers during the season? You're talking nonsense and you know you are.
