Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If making in the teapot, has to be loose tea, one good spoon for every mug. Let it sit about 3 minutes, good stir of the pot, and pour. No sugar, dash of milk.
If I'm lazy, teabag in cup, pour on boiling water, leave for a few minutes, then squeeze the bejasus out of it, till it's good and strong.
The thought of putting milk on top of a teabag makes me feel physically ill:(

Teabag first. I gag when I see those who go milk first.

I keep the teabag in and just put a tiny bit of milk in. yum.harsh.

I don't think I've ever had tea with the milk in first. I must try it.

Has to be seen to be believed.

I voted before reading the first post and realising its flawed. The post is referring to tea from a pot not tea bags. If using a pot I put in the milk first but not if using a single bag in a cup. The tea bag wont brew properly if cooled down by the milk.

So I should be putting milk in a cup and a teabag in of top of it?

No. The example given is crap as it refers to pre tea bag days!

Tea should be made in a pot, nice and strong. Splash of milk after the tea.

My tea routine never changes :):

Teabag in first, then two sugars. Pour in water from kettle then put on toast straight away, stir tea for 30 seconds, take out teabag and add milk. Toast pops up a few seconds later, butter it as quick as possible, and voila! Yummy hot toast and yummy hot tea :) Now to go get some :D

Oh, and Barry's Gold Blend is the tea of choice! ;):D

Man, it actually does taste better with milk in first.

Usually drink coffee but when having tea I like to take the teabag out before putting the milk in.

Let the tea bag sit for about 30-40 second, remove (without squeezing!), loadssss of milk. It's basically just a cup of warm, slightly being milk but I love it!

I was at the county final there when I was home the weekend. I was eavesdropping on the conversation the lads were having behind me.

'Near a bitta tea left, not a drop lad. Only this coffee sh*te'
'Well da curse a jaysus on it, I was looking forward to a nice hot cup of tea'

I like my tea like I like my women - hot, black and as wet as possible.

    Black, strong, 2 sugars.

How is there even a debate on this?
Teabag in cup, put in just boiled water (has to have just literally clicked off!), after about 5 seconds squeeze about 3/5 times depending on the mood, get rid of teabag, add 1 level spoon of sugar and stir making at least 3 rotations then add a nice splash of milk and something nice on the side.
On another note, I was in a local cafe recently (first time there) and asked for a pot of tea. It was made with tea leaves. Delicious! So much nicer than tea bags.

Strong enough to stand a spoon up in, with a good splop of milk.

Out the teabag and boiling water in the cup first then add milk no sugar (kicked that habit a while ago), the thought of putting milk in with the teabag just seems so wrong. I squeeze the hell out of the teabag too! I like mine a certain colour, not too dark not too white, kind of a tan/beige colour. My dad puts two teabags in to his makes it as strong as possible, as his dad used to have the teabags in the pot until it was like tar!

The merest suggestion of milk, with the teabag left in.
