Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well then they could do themselves a favour and start watching the match.

RVP must be doing special favours for Van Gaal

Wow, one season injured really does make football fans forget a lot.

Falcao going off is silly. He looks sickened.

You would rather Falcao ahead of those Strikers? I'm not forgetting anything. He's not top 3 in the world. Great striker.not top 3

How is RVP still on the field?

    Taking Falcao off!

Hope it doesn't come back to bite us again.

Clearing a certain goal off the line is a lack of defensive effort on Newstalk

He saved a shot off the line, made a few tackles and he's a striker who scored a goal, spoofers on Newstalk.

Ridiculous seeing as he stopped a shot on our goal line.

    Scrap the cap!

Terrible to leave van Persie on thee, Falcao has been so much better on and off the ball. I'm guessing he must be tired or something?

RVP is the captain, that is why he is still on.

Considering Costa and Falcao were on the same team and one was literally just there to make space for the other (hyperbole I know) I'm not sure how you can put him ahead of Falcao.

Maybe RVP is Van Gaal's love child.

    Devil's advocate...

Knocking the ball away when you've been told to stand at the post for a corner or free kick isn't really "defensive effort" in the true sense.

What people like the Newstalk guys (and people like Giles) forget is that forward players are often told NOT to track back or to chase down the opposition to ensure that they're fresh when attacking opportunities present themselves.

It will be interesting to see Fellaini in an attacking role.

He's Dutch, LVG loves Dutch players. Makes sense he plays him and trusts him in fairness.

Maybe he took Falcao off because he's recovering from a nasty ACL injury and it's a precautionary move to ease him back into football.

Na, feck that. HE LOVES RVP.

They need to do something about that trench behind the line

His attributes are definitely more suited to midfield than the wing as it stands right now.

Because that was 2 years ago. Costa has improved immensely as a player since.

Messi and Ronaldo are so far ahead of everyone that I almost leave them put of the debate altogether.

Falcao is the most potent goalscorer out of the others you mentioned over the last several years, despite playing in stronger leagues than Suarez and I bra have at times, and keeping Costa (who had had one good year before this) on the bench at Atlético.

Be honest you've not watched much of Falcao over his career.

Messi isn't a striker so you've just named Falcao in your own top 3....

Mata is playing like someone trying too hard to impress his manager and not playing his natural game because of it.

De Be a is a great keeper...is he in the top 3 in the world? I neither know nor care.

And yet Falcao was still the more dangerous goalscorer over his time at Atlético than Costa was last year. Any claim that any forward (barring Messi/Ronaldo) is "miles better" than Falcao is hilarious.

Messi is still a striker tho surely he can be included in top 3? Haha. Suarez/Ibra/Messi are top 3. RVP etc etc all the same as Falcao.

For Fellaini, there is always room for improvement. The problem is, there is no potential for it.
