Arsenals injury crisis in midfield actually makes Welbeck more appealing for me.
They still have plenty of people to create chances, I think the injuries just make Welbeck more pivotal to those chances.

yeah you never know they might go a bit more direct. he's looked pretty dangerous when playing on the shoulder of the last defender. Arteta and Sanchez are great for those kind of through balls

Has anyone watched much of Southampton recently?

Tempted by Tadic or Mane. Is Tadic worth the extra 0.6m? I'm starting to think about a few defensive upgrades so would bank it for another few weeks.

Tadic is on pens so I'd say he is worth a bit more

What's your planned double move to get Aguero in?

    Well played.

Right now, I'm not quiiiite sure who the second player is. Could be Sterling, could be Ivan, could be Siggy. Could even be Fabregas.

I'm waiting to see about a few players, most notably Walcott. Once I have more information, I'll make up my mind.

Wouldn't you consider Chadli or Walcott if you have the cash (which I guess you should have with £1.6m in the bank...)?

I would I suppose, Walcott more so than Chadli. But I'll wait a couple of weeks after Walcott comes back and see how he fares out. He'll probably get only 30 minutes or so in the first couple of games back.

Henderson has very good stats so far. See this article...

Still undecided what my transfer this week will be, have 0.5m in the bank.

Can't decide whether I should do:

    a). Kompany out, Baines in.
2). Kompany out, Azpi in (this means I'll have 1.0m itb for future transfers)
iii). Moore out, a 4.5 def in.

    Any opinions?

Why are a lot of people shipping out Fab? Saving my transfer this week.. I want to get Walcott in in a few weeks for sterling, might downgrade Alderwiereld to a 4.5 to Do so and free cash

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I guess it is still early days for the comparisons they make to be really noteworthy but it's very interesting and could be a way to upgrade defense/keepers without depleting elsewhere upfront.

    Food for thought.

Medium term Fab to Hazard is on my mind anyway, and with options like him and Walcott around something's got to give.

Arghhhhhh... So many options out there, it's driving me mad.

I've 2FT's and my defence is ok(ish) for the time being.

    Current front 8 is
    Sterling - ADM - Fab - Chadli - Boyd
    Aguero - Costa - Ade

Now... The first part is easy. Ade is out.

I've been over and back between Pelle & Welbeck.
My gut is also saying to get both Southampton & Arsenal coverage for their run of fixtures.

I've fallen out of love with Sterling but I don't think it's wise to get rid of him just yet. High ownership and nice fixtures could burn me.
I'm not even considering Fab out just yet as I'd be much happier to wait until his form dips rather than listen to stories of him over-performing.
ADM is in no real danger just yet.

That leaves me in a hipsterish position. Do I dump Chadli just as he's becoming cool :) City this weekend is helping me want to move him on.

My latest options for Ade & Chadli are
    1. Pelle & Ox
    2. Welbeck & Mané (can't afford Tadic)
    3. Welbeck & Siggy

As I've typed that out, I can't see how 2 is better than 3.

So... Anyone want to convince me that Ox is worth a little punt while he should be guaranteed gametime?

The other option I have is to keep Chadli and bring
    4. Pelle & Santi in for Ade & Sterling

This option frees up over 1m that could come in handy at the back in future weeks or could facilitate a Fab -> Hazard.

Too many options. My head hurts.

If I were you think I'd only do

    5. Ade -> Pellè. Keep your saved FT for later. I don't see it necessary this week.

I understand chosing between Pellè and Welbeck can currently almost sound like chosing between your mom and dad but I may give you a few reasons to go for Pellè now. Sure it probably won't convince you 100% (as I may not even be myself but let's try to be 100% rational) but it's a bit like the Costa vs Aguero captaincy choice, I feel these few reasons might be lower risk.
    1. Pellè has a better current record. I know different oppositions. But the next 5 games are easier for Pellè (SUN h, STO h, Hul a, LEI h, AV a) than for Welbeck (HUL h, SUN a, BUR h, SWA a, MU h) so there's no rational reasons why Pellè would stop his good run. And there's also no rational reasons why Welbeck would substantially outscore him over these 5 games.

If you want Arsenal coverage, maybe a Sterling -> Walcott transfer for the Burnley home game would be your perfect answer in an ideal world ;).

    2. No Champions League "distractions" for Pellè.

    3. Pellè's more expensive so the Pellè -> Welbeck switch, if needed, should be easier than the opposite one.

    4. Southampton are playing better than Arsenal at the moment. The injury crisis at Arsenal may or may not suit Welbeck's FF potential. The thing is we just don't know yet. While in Southampton there's nothing to worry about. And hopefully that stays like that.

But Hazard time to step up, and potential to get double digits every match....or ill re transfer this move in two weeks time lol

Ade and Boyd out Welbeck and Davis in ;)

Keep Chadli (Spurs run nice to Christmas after this gw, and Chadli is on form!). Davis gives you S'hampton attacking coverage for this nice run of fixtures they have, and is a decent 1st sub thereafter! (He was also sharing set-piece duties with Tadic last match, you're welcome ;) )

That's a powerful back line with just those 2 at the back!

My midfield re-jig will see me upgrade a defender to the cheaper Chelsea option - Azpil or Felipe Luis (he is going to start playing some time)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,081 ✭✭✭GetWithIt

Been toying with the idea of Lampard as my fifth midfielder - rotating with Ulloa as my 7th attacker.

I currently have Zaha who has kept the bench warm nicely for both me and Palace. Other options in the price range are Krankjar and Diame but their fixtures are terrible short term.

Was going to bank a transfer this week but I suspect this would be the week for Lampard to start with others travelling and I suspect City will start to go 1 up top with Lampard/Toure behind over the next few weeks as they work through the CL fixtures.

I wasn't going to make a transfer but thinking I might do Dummett to trippier. 5 home games in the next 7 he has no attacking points yet but burnley are starting to get their injured players back.Duff is .7 cheaper though.

I've considered bringing him in. He's shown the last few games that he can score big. He could go on to replicate what Tevez did at West Ham 7/8 years ago where he single handedly saved them from relegation. Tevez propelled my team up the table that year too.

I've been keeping an eye on him. He looks in good form and he had a bumper half a season when he first arrived. He, Jelavic, Siggy and Pienaar were the stars of the latter half of the 2011-12 season.

If he got anywhere near that form again, 13 goals in 14 games, he's a no brainer.

2FT, 6.1m itb and sitting in 9k overall, I am going ahead with my original plan to do Ulloa and Pieters to Wellbeck and Baines.
Ulloa was a 1 week gamble that didn't pay off, Baines is a long term gamble but he has great fixtures and looks to be coming in to form he is also a good differential.
The only downside is I am foregoing any short term prospects of getting Aguero in (forwards Ulloa, Costa, Pellé). My plan B was to go Ulloa > Agero and Pieters > cheapie defender but since everyone came through the internationals unscathed I am going with my Plan A. Hoping not having Aguero doesn't backfire.....

Duff has picked up plenty of bonus points when Burnley do well.

A threat from set pieces maybe? .7 is a lot when considering bottom half defenders

Diame is 5.4 and a better pick than Larsson I think. He's playing behind the strikers now at Hull and scoring regularly.
