Heavy rain arrived in North Kildare. My flippin anemometer is broken so won't be able to record wind speeds. :(

Yep rescue 115 en route to Dingle bay but is currently doing an ILS approach into Kerry to try and get down under the cloud and get visual with the ground. certainly not a nice night for them.

Could be holding, watch for a min...

Edit: Seems she's heading for ORK alright :)

I'm looking out the window now and the branches on the trees are hardly moving its so calm. I don't think I've ever seen a southerly gale in my parts because of the mountains to the south.

Strongest gust so far is 94 km/h at Sherkin, pretty much in line with the models, maybe a bit on the weaker side though I think it'll get a little stronger overall as it moves further east through the night.

Is this the main heavy band of rain over the east coast now or is there more to come.
