Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah reddit is the sh1t. The soccer forum is great. Posters from all over the world and the sense of humor and jokes floating around are great.

Reddit as a site is great, you can get lost there for hours. Great content everyday. It makes you wonder how tosh like Facebook is so popular.

As a final year sport management student, maintaining to one messageboard has been difficult enough! Don't encourage me to browse reddit even more!

Did any of you find funny that few Liverpool fans said '2 medicore teams" when trying to compare both teams in various threads? How can a team with De Gea, Rafael, Shaw, Herrera, Carrick. Blind, Di Maria, Rooney, Falcao can be mediocre?

They are just hoping they won't be alone next year watching eastenders

The format takes a few days to get used to but once you do its great.

Some tips. You have the front page or www.reddit.com and then you have subreddits, so if you add /r/soccer to the end or www.reddit.com your in the soccer subreddit or on its front page. Each subreddit will have its own banner, usually soccer has a different photo for a recent match. The default tab you'll land on is "hot". So any trending topics with the most upvotes and comments going on are sorted there.

Thats the other thing, you can upvote and downvote comments. So plenty of banter between fans and intenional winding up goes on.

You can then subscribe to the soccer subreddit (or any other subreddit) once you have an account and it will shortcut to the top of the webpage.

You can also use reddits internal search bar for whatever your looking for.

Another tip is that each new topic popping up is its own thread and you can sort the comments in certain orders. Clicking the title will take you to the video/gif/article link but under the topic you see the amount of comments so if you click on this you enter the thread and discussion on the posted topic. Usually its best to sort the comments by top i.e the most upvoted or popular as the most replies and debate will be visible.

If you use Firefox there is an addon called the reddit enhancement suite, it makes clicking and browsing around easier, I higly reccomend installing it. You can drop down view gifs and pics without the need to enter a thread, it just makes things quicker.

All the content is user driven, so if you like a topic, photography or whatever you can start and mod your own subbreddit based on it. So you have the usual subreddits like

    /r/movies
    /r/music
    /r/worldnews etc etc

and some weird, wacky and hillarious ones

There are many soccer subreddits, ones for each club and then stuff for tactics and downloads

    League of Ireland - /r/LeagueOfIreland - @LOI_on_Reddit - /rLOI on Fb

    England

    Leagues

see here for a full list

    http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/wiki/relatedsubreddits

Its really a rewarding site but very pun and reference heavy, it takes a bit of hanging around before you get them but once you do its great craic. Give it a chance and you'll love it.

Link to the boobs pics please!

They just haven't watched United recently at all. It doesn't help that the main wind up offender isn't banned anymore like he was for a long time. There's just no changing their minds about the fact that they've missed United's improvement. Can't accept facts and sure most of the players you mentioned there are poor anyway :p

Last season we drew with Southampton in both matches, 1-1 draws in both games.

In the previous season it was two wins for United, 2-1 at home and a 3-2 win away.

So we haven't lost to them since they were promoted.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,755 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Stupid rumour that United will bid £50 million for Mario Gotze, who Bayern will replace with Reus.

    Impress us

I doubt I did, but both sides have scored in every game we played since Southampton were promoted.

Good thing is we are playing a team who have lost both their previous two games and drew the game before that.

Rooney scored both goals in our last win.

In our last 4 games, RVP has been our top scorer.
RVP 4 goals including a hattrick in a 3-2 away win.
Rooney 2 goals in our home win January of last year
Mata with a goal in our 1-1 draw last May.

RVP to play given his form against this team...their goal scorers are either at Liverpool or injured apart from Jay Rodriguez.

Makes so little sense that United didn't get Janmaat in the Summer

Yeah and also there is no logic of player out of form or having a hard time. Just past his peak or not good enough.

He was not that good before his move to Newcastle IMO at least in WC.

Just like Christmas creeping in earlier and earlier every year courtesy of the retailers who need the cash, the Summer transfer window is already being dragged out by the journos who also need the cash. Yesterday, on December 5th, LVG had to quash talk of next Summer's transfer window after a week where the mainstream sports media heavily reported on lists of United targets and budgets for next Summer. It was only at about 4 minutes into the 7 minute press conference when a relevant football question was actually asked, and LVG commended the person who finally asked a relevant football question. (Will Wayne Rooney be fit for the Southampton game? was the question)

Transfer speculation and window predictions are torturous at the most of times, but starting the Summer talk now is just fúcking insane and for me it is akin to hearing Fairytale of New York on the radio in June. I will not be taking parting in or giving attention to any of it for at the least another few months. It is the journalistic equivalent of going through periods of **** while waiting for some actual sex to come around.

Speaking about yesterday's presser; LVG fúcking hates journalists and from about two minutes into it you can sense the journalists' apprehension and caution in the way they worded their questions, love it! Also, kudos for the subtle little dig that he took at our old rivals who we'll be playing after Southampton. Oh, and he didn't mention 'philosophy' once! Guess he doesn't need to mention it now that it's starting to talk for itself in the team performances.

8 points behind them if we win. We'd need another couple of Chelsea slip ups to get back into it but its not looking as impossible now as it did last month.

Chelsea's away form is not something any team should fear.

Only won one of their last four away PL games, a win against Liverpool.

In the same period we had one away loss too, to Man City.

If we can make our away form as good as our home form, we have a chance of a great season.

Rival fans can call us deluded all they want but when you have 20 odd games left and have the quality such as di Maria, Rooney, van persie, ddg and whoever else becomes flavour of the month, 8/11 points isn't that much. A half decent title challenge is starting to take shape.

If we win the next 2 games that will be huge

Not today from the position he currently occupies. Today he's out wide on the wing, that far wide he is actually sitting on the bench watching the game.

What a great set of results for us so far today. Regardless of how city gets on, Monday's game is massive now. A win there will put us in great position to definitely get top 4 and then look at mounting a title challenge.

We need to win our game so badly now. LVG will be determined now after all these slip ups. This is why the EPL is the best league in the world.

We don't, that's the thing. Today's results afford us the possibility of an unpunished slip (ha!) up.

If we win on Monday, I think it will go a long way to showing that we can be ruthless.
