Fellaini great for a few games not a word, he has a bad game and the usual suspects are out with the usual he is crap.

He has done more than any of out other midfielders this season.

to be fair, he was shockingly bad on Monday - he gave away the ball for the goal which nearly cost us the game and if it was Rooney, RVP, Young etc etc who did it, they'd all be getting the same treatment.

Fellaini has had a good 6 weeks, his best for the club but performances like that are just not acceptable.

Fellaini was very, very poor on Monday night.

    De Gea is a goalie.

    He does not play "outfield".

Technically he does play out on the field.

Its in the teens for sure. Jaysus if any mod just looks at my shared ips, we would all be screwed. Im even a mod and an admin in my spare time.

I just want Utd to be talked about now that we are such a small club, so just create other accounts, then use those accounts to ban other supporters.

Watch my recent visitors get inundated with mods making sure im not telling lies, then realise im telling the truth.

Yeah saying that he's going to be the highest paid keeper in the world. Give him whatever it takes, with the way he's been playing he's going to be United's best ever.

The only reason I'm not completely freaking out about al the defensive injuries is that I know David is behind them. Consistently.

Not sure we would be making him the highest paid keeper in the world just yet or anything, but he certainly deserves to be on a comparable wage to his peers, whatever that may be.

I guess its no secret Real need a new keeper, and there would be just concerns that a Spanish goalkeeper that looks nailed on to be their new no.1, would be tempted to join them.

Barca could use a new goalkeeper aswell. So when you have the two biggest spanish clubs sniffing around, I'd say its justified to ensure we keep De Gea no matter the cost..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,889 ✭✭✭✭The Moldy Gowl

Liverpool might need him as well when they qaulify next year, only top players will play in the CL

the official FB page are doing a 12 days of Christmas thing, with a Cantona theme.

here is todays clip, one of my favourite goals - .

in fact, id say if i picked my top 10 goals, Cantona would feature at least 4 times, some of his goals were defining moments for the foundation of the current regime.

Why do Barca need a new keeper?

The Real rumours won't go away until they sign a long term keeper, nothing we can do about that really. If he leaves one day he leaves, I just want to get the most out of him while he is here

Loyalty is a buzz word people use to create a romantic view of football.
Sure didn't saurez a contract last January committing himself to Liverpool.

If you moved country at a young age, loved your job, loved the people you worked with.

Then got an offer from your home country to work in a bigger more successful company. What would you do? Be loyal to the company who said yeah sure you can go if you like.

It wasn't quite like that, Atletico didn't want to lose him. He is not English though, he is not a local lad, he is Spanish and Real Madrid hold a huge sway with Latin players as it is, to play for the most famous team in the world must be quite the pull for Spaniards and if the opportunity comes I am sure it is almost impossible to turn down tbh regardless of who you grew up supporting or playing for,Raul was an Atletico product also really. He may feel an affinity to United for showing such faith and giving him the chance so young, also to help to make him the keeper he is becoming, but that is not enough for him to stay for life if he feels strongly enough about returning to Spain. Look at Ronaldo, he came as a kid, loved the manager, the club the fans, he became the best player in the world at this club but he loved another one more. Its football

A goalkeepers career can be very long and there is no rush in terms of De Gea going back to spain if that is what he wants, we can get another 6 years out of him and he will still be able to go back there and play for another 10 years potentially. Just tie him down now to put any doubts out the way right now and see how the situation develops over the years

Yeah thats what I meant, Moved from spain at 19, then job offer from the best company in Spaon with a very important role.

It would be hard to turn down for any player. Sure didnt our Danny move to our rivals and he is a local lad and 'loves' the club.

Agreed Barca just signed two keepers one of which is Ter Stegen who is a great prospect himself.

The Real rumours will always be there but you just hope he harbours no desires in that respect due to his love of Atletico

Aye, but we didn't want him, and he's moved to a different city 300 miles away. De Gea would be haunted in Madrid.

Sure utd fans are all from London. I think you are just overstating it. If he moves, he moves, it will be a big offer and the club will have to accept it first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭OctavarIan

I still remember the stick De Gea got for the first half season or so at Utd, and how long it took before the pundits and commentators on Sky stopped mentioning him every single time a corner was given against us. So happy with the keeper he's turned into. He looks to have the same kind of determination in him now that Ronaldo and other top players have. His development is one of the best things at the club over the past two seasons, I say throw money at him and long may it continue.

Barcalona commentators and fans seem to indicate a hgiher quality goalkeeper is required. Sorry maybe that's incorrect, just seems to be an overiding comment this season when people speak about Barca and how they are on the "slide"

Get Dave signed up, if he's going to go to Madrid at some stage a new contract will bring his value up anyway, its a win/win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,229 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Slap a £100 million buyout clause in the contract. Sorted.

Not really though, Reus would be a good example maybe, turned down Bayern to play for Dortmund, but it doesn't matter. Money talks in football and its a short career relatively speaking, loyalty is great and all, but very rare.

My own favorite is our own Alan Smith, said the only team he would never play for is Manchester United........and signed for us about a month later :)

It may be a short career, but these top level guys are multi millionaires by 25, even playing for a German club that's not Bayern.

Ah yeah. Multimillionaires before they are 30 and still have 60 years left to live with no skills other than sports.

A player who averages €50K a week for 10 years will have earned €25m. If you can't live on that for the rest of you life then it doesn't matter if you earn €250m cause you'll end up blowing it all anyway.
