Games not over yet I know, but i think we've played well. Lot of positives to take from the game regardless of how it finishes.

I hope after today larry shuts up about Fellaini being the worst ever player

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,690 ✭✭✭ElChe32

I'm sorry lads I don't see whats the big deal around Januzaj, I want to be proved wrong, but all I saw was 2 decent passes and the rest of the game slowing the play down every time he got the ball. Anonymous in the 2nd half..

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Was expecting the loss, so not really that upset by it. Frustrating that it came from a setpiece but was expecting worse.

RVP, I felt, was anonymous. DiMaria had a bad game.

Fel was really good, I felt, putting in a shift all over the place. Januzaj and Shaw were quite good. Not a great performance but not the worst by a significant margin. Would be more confident with Falcao in the team though.

    ----

Had this typed up on the 93rd minute. Will eat my words. Fel was our MOTM though. Awesome.

Fellaini was excellent today. I gave him a lot of criticism last year but he has proven me wrong today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,196 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

All the bitching and moaning, there is only one RVP, OUR SAVIOUR.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,222 ✭✭✭✭Will I Amnt

    Deserved that lads. F*cking delighted.

Fellaini is the man again today. Best player in a United shirt by a distance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,416 ✭✭✭Zico

    Transfer window coming up.

Will Ed Woodward buy the players we've needed for the last two years?

Paddy Power couldn't **** on OT enough to make that happen.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,889 ✭✭✭✭The Moldy Gowl

Fellaini and rvp, the 2 scapegoats. Heros.

    Great point. Great performance

Only knew RVP had scored because my brother started to scream like a ghost in a strip club.

What a moment that was. Ooooooo Robin Vaaaaaaaaaan Persie.

Fellaini put in a serious shift today again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

    Delighted for Fellaini.

Took some serious flack last season whilst mainly injured as well as trying to settle in.

Great performances the last 2 games :)

As I said I was one of the more positive about our chances during the week, but with how it panned out I am happy enough with the draw, more then manner of it. Keeping going right to the end and pulling it back should be a huge boost and a return to the never say die attitude, hopefully.

Good performance overall, Chelsea the better in the second half, but we edged the first so a draw is a fair enough result tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,006 ✭✭✭beno619

Great first half, poor second half. Fellaini and Adnan were great, RVP was marginally better.

    Great result.

He was given a job and stuck to it all game. Fab never had a look in. Well done big man.

Please God, can you keep Smalling fit for a few months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

For the first time in a long time it felt like watching United of old. And that finish didn't go half way to making me feel like Fergie was on the sideline.

Thought we did well today. Was chuffed for Fellaini who I thought was excellent and was really neat in possession and seemed to find so much space.

Not so much an important point as an important performance to boost confidence ahead of City.

I'm so glad I stood by Fellaini all along. Gonna pm all the haterz rubbing it in their face.

Fellaini man of the match for me. Immense. Showed so well for the ball, held things up and made the right pass, great assist, and added so much uncertainty when getting forward.

Absolute legend. Can someone make me a Fellaini sig???

I'll be honest, the point was secondary to that performance. Absolutely immense from the lads.

    Onwards!!!

Stats are very flattering too. Beat Chelsea in pretty much everything...

Got to give credit to Rafael too. For someone who is apparently too rash and unreliable to play for the club, he played 80 minutes against Hazard carrying a yellow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

Get the fcuk in - absolutely great performance, I was going to come in here after a 1-0 loss too to say it too. Fellaini was brilliant today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

happy with the defence today thought all of them did very well

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,930 ✭✭✭KH25

Smalling was also very good today. Let's hope he stays fit.

I was stunned silent for about 3 seconds after the ball went in, couldn't believe it, then I jumped around the living room shouting random player names and swear words for about a minute.

    Man, that was great.

Fellaini is showing he's well worth the money. Absolutely beasting the midfield play. And set pieces against a team like chelsea with defenders like ivanovic won't be easy and we saw once ivanovic came off fellaini nearly scored so imagine what he could do against weaker defences on set pieces. It's only been 2 games but I think he deserves a starting place more than herrera atm.

Thought Mata played well in the first half but faded in the second. ADM had a poor game. Januzaj made some great runs today. Blind played that DM role like a pro. And Big Dave 1 on 1 with Hazard... immense.

I started jumping on top of my Chelsea supporting brother when it went in :D .. funnily enough he didn't like it...

That got glossed over cause the goal came seconds later, but that was a crazy save. Just stunning.

    What are you lol'ing about?

We'll have Welsh town name banners around the stadium soon.

Moyes was sacked and managed a draw at home with Chelsea without Di Maria.

Either Van Gaal is crap or the players are.

De gea has to be the best goalie in the leauge? Surely.

Ugh, man. Have a **** and come back to us.
We just got an immense point, the biggest result, alongside the best performance in the last 18 months.

Go watch some torture porn for yourself.

That performance today was better than anything under moyes. The players had belief for the whole game and never gave up.

He has more in his locker than his performance today. He played well but is still a bit away from top form. Today was not excellent from a player of his calibre's perspective.

Thought Shaw snd Januzaj were very good today. Rafael showed maturity. ADM looks tired. Fellaini will be a manager's kind of player. Lots of dirty work done and a bit of quality every so often.

Unreal. My voice is wrecked from that finish.

Delighted as well for all the people beside me who left early. Pretty much the whole row left before it.

Never leave early when United are playing.

Courtois is on another level to him as much as I'm a DDG mark.

I don't think so. De gea has made way better saves. A lot of abu's just putting him down fr the sake I think.

My Canadian house mates conversation being broken up by me screaming and then shouting F*** you Mourinho at my laptop repeatedly was a nice breakfast moment :D

Good performance but still a long way to go.

It was nice to go into a game against Chelsea confident and then see it fulfilled as United were competitive throughout and on level with them. Especially in midfield ( on a day where Herrera was on the bench). That a major positive this early in Van Gaals reign.

Defence needs to settle down more as when Chelsea ran at them they were in trouble. Hopefully that will come if defenders stay fit.

It would be good to see Di Maria play a bit less restrained and moving around to find space in this type of game, but then again the way both teams played that was a big ask.

With Rooney, Falcao and Herrera to come back there is a lot to be happy with.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,362 ✭✭✭K4t

Happy with the result but this game doesn't tell us half as much about the team or where we are at as many here seem to think it does.

A lot of the football played was no different to that of last season, and the player(s) who were supposed to be integral to a better style of play (Mata and ADM) were largely anonymous.
