This could be a very important 3pts

Norwich would have gone 7pts ahead of us if they won

    Only 1pt now

Was in the middle of typing up a long essay about how we're dropping leads etc but I'm now hoarse from screaming at the radio and drenched myself in beer in excitement.

    Fúcking huge win!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,520 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

That was one hell of a comeback, but the issue here is that it shouldn't have been necessary with all the chances squandered before they equalised.

The signs are still mostly positive though, scoring as many goals as that is the main thing, the defense will inevitably improve over time with Rafa there, it takes more than a few months to build a solid defence unless unless you're signing world class defenders, which isn't possible for Newcastle.

So, is that our Istanbul yeah? :pac:

What a great result in the end!!!

It really does show a huge team spirit with our never say die attitude, players definitely working for rafa. Defence need to get settled again, bit worrying.

On a negative note, mitrovic really hasn't shown up yet this season. Looks like he might be carrying a few pounds and is missing so many chances.

    Howay the lads!!!

To be fair to Mitro, he hasn't really been given a starting role. Has played bit part roles but he does have a tendency to miss good chances. Once the goal comes, I think we'll see a different beast.

He's a lunatic to his credit and his downfall but his presence tonight seemed to make a difference according to commentary.

Rumour has it that (another) one of our ex managers may be about to be named in the Telegraph stings ... not clear if it is for transactions while at our club or not

And if it is, that it happened while at Palace...

TBF, if any investor tried to pay a newcastle manager off, thinking they could influence descisions to buy players, then they werent paying much attention to MA and how he was running the club! :P

All over 0-1 Newcastle, should have been way more comfortable but I'll take it, Hopefully wolves can take points off Norwich later

It's amazing what a good manager brings, I'm confident wer going to get back up even when playing poorly. I'm actually enjoying this season more than the previous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,917 ✭✭✭✭GT_TDI_150

It seems Rafa is able to constantly direct individual players through out the game rather than other managers that seem to shout at the defence to step up or just shout at midfielders to get close etc.

Its interesting to see him talking to players when they go to take throw ins / frees near Rafa.

Beating Derby/Norwich/QPR is always going to be more enjoyable than losing to Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal.
Things are looking good for NUFC though. Solid manager who will bring them back to the PL I believe.

    Folks,

Looking for some advice here! Thinking of heading over with a friend for the leeds game on April 15th next and was wondering when they might announce the televised games for sky? Had a quick look online but can't see any schedule for announcements. I was thinking of booking Fri and Sat night accommodation with free cancellation and leaving the flights until later. They are €80 at the minute but will rise. Any advice? Tickets will hardly be an issue will they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭fitzparker

id say it wont be till Jan/Feb getting the TV fixtures for April, id say you will be fine for tickets but best to get them online as soon as public sale go up its handier that way. I wouldn't think the €80 will change much, thats usually around max amount, or at least they will still be that price when TV fixtures announced.

Gayle brace tonight. Four wins from four and a point behind Norwich. Rafa is a king among men.

Ye are top, a point ahead of Norwich after tonight.

Not bad after losing the first 2. 28 points from the last 33 is some going.

excellent form we are hitting at the moment, Shelvey is really finding form and Gayle is unstoppable at the moment, squad rotation is working perfect. not to worried about the african nations now as the lads that come in are just as good.

being able to drop Ritchie, Goufrann, Perez and still go away from home and put in a convincing performance just shows the depth in the squad.

If only we still had Sissoko in the squad! :P

no! I think this headline says it all....
'Why is Moussa Sissoko paid to play football?' - Spurs fans turn on former Newcastle United man

Hopefully Huddersfield drop a few points tonight. We have been excellent of late and Rafa is finally getting to the grips with proper squad rotation which is vital for this league especially when we've a midweek game after the weekend.

Dropping Sels is the big positive in my opinion. Darlow looks very composed for someone of his age and defenders don't look as worried with him in goal.
