Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Prestons last 3 games have been Brighton, Huddersfield and Norwich. They've gotten 7 points. They've done us a few big favours but can't blow it against them ourselves now

That was so one sided, feel robbed only scoring 6. If we'd not have been trying to get mitro a. Hattrick we'd have scored north of 10

Hope not ... a dull 1-0 win for toon will do me fine.

Preston will have a much better team out Saturday, still should beat them but won't be so easy, should have been double figures last night, mitro dancing at the end was class! HWTL

Seen this earlier. that is a ridiculous goal. Showed real confidence to play it out 2/3 times from the back.

Be great to see Newcastle back where they belong.

Earlier today flights for the weekday the matches for carling cup are on were €2 to Newcastle. Hopefully we get a home game and book it straight away lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Home draw please god. Only Liverpool and arsenal I feel would beat us regardless at St James'. Match for everyone else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 224 ✭✭matrixf

The great unwashed got knocked out against Southampton so no derby game in the cup, hope we get a home tie!

Away to Hull in the cup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,917 ✭✭✭✭GT_TDI_150

with arsenal still in the pot to be drawn ... AWAY to Hull isnt a bad draw at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Would've been nice to be home but apart from Leeds, hull was as good as could be hoped for

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,746 ✭✭✭TaosHum

With Hull struggling near the bottom of the PL, it's hard to know how much interest they will give it.

Good draw and at least gives Newcastle a shot at going through.

Love it ...Gayle banging em in for fun only for Mitro to follow suit ...

it can only propel both on to even better form!

And the PASSION that mitro shows!

Where hes from its a term of endearment (or what ever Suarez said at the time)

If he was stupid enough to say anything remotely racist then he deserves to have the book thrown at him.

That said it seems to be a third hand acusation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,210 ✭✭✭fitzparker

yeah seems to be third party that advised it, we will wait and see but hopefully it doesn't rock the boat to much and the squad can continue...

if he did do it as above he needs to be severely punished.

in other news from next season the PL has ruled that away fans need to be in the lower tier of stadiums, wonder what knock on effect that will have for Newcastle season holders in that area(providing we go up of course)

Been a while lads. Work has been crazy. Haven't had a weekend off in about 2 months but I'll actually get to watch the Leeds game this weekend.

    I've missed football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 224 ✭✭matrixf

Dominated first 30 mins, lucky goal for Gayle but credit for following the ball in, Leeds have come back into it last 10 mins , feel we need 2nd goal to win , Perez not doing much , should have mitrovic on for the out ball!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Leeds have turned it around after the (fortunate) goal. Need to be careful here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Time for a few subs, this game is getting away from us

great second goal, don't know why the commentators are going on about offside. Under a fair bit of pressure before halftime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Some suspect commentary alright. The Colback penalty claim was much stronger than analysis suggested, for me anyway.

    Serious pressure before the second.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,694 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Yeah, that was a penalty for me at first look, surprised he didn't give it. Not as sure on replay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Fairly typical away performance for tips season. Did enough

9 points clear of third. Massive!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

Played great the first half. Excellent result. Just promote us now. I really look forward to what Rafa can do in the PL with a few more transfer windows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,917 ✭✭✭✭GT_TDI_150

Love how commentators were concentrating on where Gayle was in relation to the defender when Anita was ahead of both when he passed the ball for Gayle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

To think I got us at 5/2 to win the league. Lumped it on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

If Leeds had a more clinical finisher they would have gotten something out of that game today. We rode our luck at times and they really turned it around after the first goal we scored.

We just never fully dominated after that but we were solid enough. Dummett is still a weird one for me. Time and time again he had chances to take his man on and instead opted to play the ball backwards when we had a bit of forward momentum. Alright, keeping it safe isn't a complete travesty but he is very one dimensional and I'm thinking that he's a stop gap until we find ourselves a solid LB.

Hard not to like Gayle. He's full of running and his positioning off the ball is fúcking excellent. It's a shame that none of our lads spotted him in these positions more today because he could have had another couple to his tally.

Gouffran is becoming a very reliable winger (attacking and defensively) which is mental to say given the performances he had under Pardew/Carver etc etc etc.

Squad rotation is working wonders and we've a lovely bit of balance between solidity and flashy pacy players to take the game to teams coming off the bench/starting the next game.

5 points clear at the top is nice but 9 points clear of 3rd is even more important.

Surely the more sold LB is Lazaar, no?
