3.5mm stereo jack mains adapter

Hi.

I've a rechargeable torch which I accidentally threw out the mains charger for it.
It's charged via a 3.5mm stereo jack. When i 'google' a replacement charger, with VAt/Postage etc it's more expensive than the torch itself(almost). The torch itself is very good, not the most expensive in the world (circa 35yoyos) but it loathes me to have to buy a new one.

I'm thinking of buying a multi tip adapter and fixing a 3.5mm jack to it. Will this work

Available in Argos, I'd say it would. I have 2 of these, and they are okay. Not fantastic quality but do the job.

I actually bought the same one on amazon yesterday - 10 bucks even. Argos are taking the 'you know what' charging 17 and a half bucks for that particular item - but thats another story I suppose.

With the sterling rates, and postage, did it work out cheaper in the end?

You're right though, they used to be around a 10er each years back.
