Any suggestions, need help with the following rather picky list,
have American relatives in town for tonight only and would like
to arrange a meeting for pints etc.

The problem is I would like to find a pub which:-

Has traditional music that starts as early as possible.
Is in or near the city center.
Will not object much or at all about my 17 year old
non-drinking daughter being in the company.

    TIA

the Brazen Head has live music each night apparently.
Pubs in temple bar are likely to also, and proably have music on during the afternoon, early evening, but you mightn't want to avoid temple bar.
    there's more here:

Hopefully someone else can give some good 'authentic' pubs.

    + 1

The Brazen is great, as far as I remember there are no security. Steer clear of Templebar, it's very lively but expensive as **** and bouncers could be quite strict

The arlington hotel just up from Bachelors walk does nightly Irish music

I think the one on Lord Edward Street sounds like a better choice for OP
