I am about to rent out 17 acres of land to a farmer to graze. What would be the average or most to charge him a month? I was told between €350-400.

Farmers normally take land by the year. Depending on the quality of the land it is making from as low as 50 per acre up to 400 euro an acre. Depends who you are renting to, if its a dairy farmer with his grazing block beside them then chances are you will get a higher price. likewise if its a going to be used to grow veg etc. What part of the county are you in and what condition is the land in?

The grass and bushes in the land is fairly long. I should clarify that he's not a big farmer. He just has a few sheep and horses that he wants to put in my land. So how much would you charge him a month?

    17 Acres @ 150 each divided by 12 = 210-220 a month?

150 an acre- unless you have reason to believe its worth more- seems fair to me....?

Also- if you're proposing to keep a horse there- you'd better look up the Department's rules on registering a premises to keep horses (and apply for a premises ID before any horses are moved there).
