Well if it was just the screen and the connector to the screen then you could plug it into a computer and get the info off it that way.

How exactly did the connector on the logic board get damaged anyway?

If the motherboard itself is fooked (other than just the display connector) then it's game over for your data I'm afraid. unless there is a very friendly and super genius engineer out there..

Unless you can find a specialist that does component level repairs on the logic board. Not sure if anyone does that with iphones. and if they do it won't be cheap!

It may be out of juice, try leaving it connected to a computer (with itunes) for an hour and see if it suddenly connects.

    Hi Andy:

It's probably a bit away from you - but there is a crowd here in Tallaght in Dublin that I brought a Hard Drive to for data recovery and they were able to recover my stuff.

Service was very good and the guys are sound - just be careful though because Data Recovery can be expensive - very expensive! Now, maybe recovery of data from a phone mightn't be as expensive as Hard Drive Recovery but check first . . .They will quote you first anyway . . .

I shopped around and the prices are, more or less, the same all around so it's really a case of if you are going to pay those kind of rate for data recovery. The UK, believe it or not, was even more expensive . . .

They are called DataRescue - you'll find them on Google . . .

    Best of Luck!

    Gordon

    Hi OP:

I had reason to google this yesterday and remembered posting a reply to you without having their website details.

You probably are well sorted, at this stage, but, just in case, they are at www.datarescue.ie .

They are on o Main Road - at the back of the Office Supplies place there . . . Across the road from the Vets.

    Regards

    Gordon

Get a new connector soldered on, then go from there, if the phone worked you could type the passcode blindly as the digitizer is a different connector

Stupid question probably - you didn't have iCloud set up by any chance?

Better to back up than to recover
