    Hi,

I'm hoping to fit (horizontal) wide board t&g cladding on one side of a very large sitting room but the widest I can find is only 5"

Anyone know where I would find anything larger, say 7" or 8"

What timber is best for this?

    thanks!

I think you will struggle as most T+G cladding is only about 8 mm thick - the dimensions have to be kept down to avoid warping.
You could use standard softwood flooring and rout a small chamfer along the edges ?

Or how about ply, ripped to your chosen width, then chamfered/routed for t&g?
