Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is hilarious. How did Poland only manage 7?

Does this mean we're better than Poland?

    :D

Can we bring Roy on at half time? Hell, even bring Brady on too and see how they play together!

Stop. Stop. He is already dead.

Gibraltar are an embarrassment. This could be any score.

I really fear for Gibraltar against Germany. Double figures easy.

We need to keep going and score more, goal difference could be important

Should be looking at beating the record win of 8-0 against San Marino in 1984.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Would love to see Stokes given a game second half, easily could see him net a few

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,999 ✭✭✭Backstreet Moyes

Keep it going this is a tight group goal difference could count.

    Doubtful really,

If we end up in the playoffs then the results against Gibraltar wont count and im pretty sure they do head to head instead of goal difference

What's really scary is what Germany will do to Gibraltar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,139 ✭✭✭westernfrenzy

At this stage Poland were only 1-0 up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Roy Keane must be awful tempted to get his football boots out of his car

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,593 ✭✭✭✭antodeco

Wasted play there. Still.making silly mistakes, even against a team like this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,285 ✭✭✭Frankie Lee

It doesn't matter, the main thing is to keep the playing standard up and try not develop bad habits. Show no mercy to the joke of a country Gibralter is.

Poland were away from home (I don't even know if that makes a difference)

Do goals against the lowest ranked team count for anything?

If they keep in form we might actually see the bookies default handicap at double digits (England were -7 against San Marino the other day for example, while Germany are better and Gibraltar are worse).

    Ah, Robbie! Excellent cross.

I don't think it would make much difference, they'd still be blitzed either way.

Forgot about that, isn't overall goal difference only taken into account if the team were tired with we have drawn with twice and same goals scored and conceded. Also isn't there something about goals against last place team not counting in tie breakers? Not really sure tbh

Still would like to see us not just settle for the scoreline and push on and add to it.

Roy Chipolina? Was he in Goodfellas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,021 ✭✭✭FourFourRED

It would be typically Ireland to go on and finish this at 3/4-0 now

These lads make Ward look a international quality left back

What is wrong with you McClean?!

The Gibraltar full backs haven't a clue what they are at.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,443 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

    You silly boy McClean.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

We want to get another goal before half time, just to keep the tempo going. Hopefully a few subs come on who are eager to score!

So does this mean Meyler will play at right back v Germany ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 701 ✭✭✭Paco Rodriguez

McLean should have walked for that.

Hendrick has been poor so far. I know he's only back from injury, but still.

Need to get Keane on there to growl at a few of them.

Any reason not to have 2 up front and still have hoolahan playing in behind them?

We need another goal before half time to keep it ticking over.

No need for four at the back here. Long or Doyle on for a defender.

4/5. Have it in a treble with Scotland just to win (8/13) at home to Georgia, and N. Ire -1 at home to the Faroes (5/6). Tenner on, few pennies over a €53 return if it comes off.

Game has become quite neutralised and stagnent.
