Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The new keeper just might be worse if that corner is anything to go by.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,711 ✭✭✭keano_afc

Kevin Doyle. We're taking pity on them now.

I've a feeling we wont be able to pass the ball as well with Hoolahan taken off.

These Irish fans are annoying me a bit. The same crowd would be booing their own team if we were on the end of a spanking or gave a toothless display.

Have we started a new game since the sub keeper has come on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 704 ✭✭✭frisbeeface

Yeah this version of the Ireland team is not as good

John O'Shea will always give you a chance.

O'Shea from the glimpses we've seen has been very poor, god help us against Germany!

In fairness to Gibraltar, they're not afraid to at least attempt to go forward.

O Shea and Wilson are two dingbats

John O Shea playing against Germany :mad:

I wouldn't be shocked if team doctors discovered molasses running through O'Shea's veins instead of blood.

Disappointing to see the Gibraltar keeper go off, I fancied him to get a hat trick

If the plan is now to launch balls into the box, I could see this staying at 7. Should be playing around these fellas through the middle

Muller is going to take the absolute piss on tuesday night.

I really want to see Gib score, be interesting to hear the reaction.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

It's going to be some contrast playing the Germans

It'll be a Brady cross and a Doyle header.

Want to go to the loo but scared I might miss something.

Absolutely hate those calls... keeper jumps into striker gets free kick. Granted Murphy moved a little, but even if he was stood still for the whole thing, guaranteed free kick out. Possibly the worst rule in football.

Going from playing the worst team in the world to the best. An interesting few days indeed

Game has gone the way the last 20 minutes of the 1st half was.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,021 ✭✭✭FourFourRED

Alright lads next goal wins ok?

Gib starting to play a bit.

Murphy and Doyle turn like oil tankers

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

Were coasting with neat intricate play will tidy players and we revert to putting two lumps up front!
We've just stopped since they came on

Tempo has dropped considerably since they came on.

I said it earlier, Hoolahan makes a big difference for nice simple passing play, especially when he can link up well with Keane.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

That Walker fella can definitely put in a decent corner.

Gibraltar subbing their keeper is a bit like Brazil booing Fred.

Ok, they are both shit, but the fault lies largely elsewhere.

And, it probably says more about those doing the subbing / booing than it does about the keeper / Fred.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,711 ✭✭✭keano_afc

Brady should have just headed that.

They are irking me considerably. It's 7-0 against amateurs in their second competitive game, there's no rivalry or reason to jeer them.

It's like when Puyol dragged Dani Alves away for overcelebrating a fifth goal for Barcelona against Rayo Vallecano.

Yeah Id have rather seen Brady on for McGeady, Stokes on for Keane and maybe send on Quinn then later on.

Hoping we break the record of 8-0 but players don't seem too fussed tbh.

Gib definitely a lot happier defending crosses than, well, anything else.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Well at least Murphy should be good with his head... oh, never mind.

There was applause I think they acknowledged he had a horrible job today

Their manager Bula made some harsh and very silly comments about his players after the Poland game. Essentially said some of them hadn't tried a leg.

Their first competitive game where they'd done their best and he slated some of them.

Comes across as a bit of a clown.

    Poor officiating overall

Ref is going a bit overboard with his sympathy calls at this point.

Ah yes, the Mexican Wave, a sign of a really boring and/or insignificant soccer match.

Well there ya go, I didn't know that, but I am not surprised.

Jesus this has been poor since Keane and Hoolahan have come off, hopefully we get a good last 10 minutes and add a goal or two.

Murphy & Doyle showing how bad they are. They have offered nothing

At least this shows that we shouldn't play two up top for the foreseeable future. This performance is pretty poor now.

I really can't recall seeing anyone look as slow and stiff in an Irish Jersey as O'Shea has tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

They have looked more likely to score since Keane and Houlo went off

    Marc Wilson got mugged there

How did he miss that?

That at least two they should have buried.
