Windows 8.1 Clean Install Issue

I'm trying to do a clean install of Windows 8.1 sourced legitimately from Microsoft via Dream Spark on my sons Win 7 Laptop. The installation process starts fine but then looks for a media driver



At first I thought it might be looking for SATA drivers but it's not accepting them when I browse to the correct SATA drivers for the machine. It returns the following Msg.



I'm using the USB install method created from the downloaded ISO using Microsoft's DVD/USB creator Tool

Anyone experienced this and found what the problem is?

If you're booting from a USB3 port try booting from a USB2 port instead.

In bios change boot mode to CSM.

The lappy has USB 2.0 0nly

I think the only BIOS options are IDE ot AHCI and I've tried both

Thanks but the BIOS isn't UEFI though it's Legacy I think.

I'm going with "The ISO file is corrupted."

I downloaded it again and created a new bootable USB and had the same problem. Many users are reporting this problem on Google with no definitive solution so I decided to get the media from someone else I know and used that to install, it accepted my sons legit key and installed and activated fine.

Pretty annoying but all is well that ends well
