Have original birth cert for an adopted person in Dublin, place of birth is listed as Ivanhoe, and I can find no leads from this. Has anyone else ever come across this on a birth cert?

    Hi Gingernut

That might well be a home birth and that's just the name of a house?

The registration district will be on the cert and with that the local registration office for Dublin in Joyce House or the GRO in Werburgh St can tell you the general area then try the local churches, cops, post office etc.

The only other possible relevant info on the cert would be the name of the person who registered the birth (the "informant" on the cert) which might give a clue?

    Cheers

    Rins
