I bought the ONKYO HTS3405 - 5.1 Package System inc. Speakers in October 2011 from you.

I have moved house and planning some upgrades on my home cinema.

How would you rate the speakers set that came with the Onkyo? How is the sub-woofer?

Not looking to break the bank. Any advice on speakers upgrade?

    RogerThis,

apologies for the delay getting back to you - your HTS3405 was actually a great buy and the speaker system is not at all bad!

The HTS3405 uses a 'Passive' Subwoofer - the receiver has an additional channel of amplification and this limits the upgrade path a little as you need either a Passive sub or preferably an Active sub with 'high-level' inputs - there are very few of these ( but there is one! :) )

If you wanted to update the WHOLE speaker system then there are very few options - but there is one great one that won't break the bank and looks and sounds fantastic and will give you a huge step up in quality and also allow you to upgrade your receiver in the future as the Tannoy TFX will work with really good AV receivers and continue to get better..

Have a look at the system here:

They are great value in our Euro store as the euro pricing includes shipping ( and they are in a pretty large box!)

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist in any way,
