Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Should be a thread for this.

Massive game tonight at the top of the League of Ireland table. This is Dundalk's game in hand on Cork City, as they just lead by goal difference at the moment. The big deal is that Dundalk and Cork play on the last day of the season, so any slip up by Dundalk opens the door for Cork to win the league.

I didn't know this was on TV. I was going to watch NL beat down on Iceland but this is much better.

Flicked over and Dundalk player kicks the ball at head height, rovers player sticks a leg out lower.....gives away a free for high foot. Turned it off.

Some awful free kicks from Shams there.

Since when is Glen Cronin a coach at Rovers? No wonder they're picking up a good few yellows lately.

Just noticed that myself, strange one. On the away front, it looks gick but as stated its Monday at 7pm and not a whole lot to play for. Also, I'm sure they've lads in the stand also. Hope Dundalk get the business done tonight though. Cherrie keeps messing with the ball in his box too, dangerous.

Poor keeping to give the penalty away in the first place.

yeah it's mad the way it looks like that on tv... I have played on it numerous times and it's actually not that bad, ball bounces a little higher than normal and its good bit faster than grass..but other than that it's fine..

Dundalk a bit nervy and trying to throw a lot up front for a goal... Rovers will get one more chance i fear :(

    Perhaps it's just Dundalk's night..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

what a strike, that would have been some goal :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,373 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

That would have been one hell of a story if O'Donnell scored that after the season he has had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Is Dundalk vs Cork on RTE?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

FFS he should have taken the strike on...would have been difficult to give penalty there

I've no love for Dundalk and would prefer to see Cork win it, but that was a stonewall penalty.

Peter Collins say that? I had it on mute, but I can imagine him saying it in that over-zealous excitement he displays for all things LOI.

    Kenny Cunningham said it.

Pretty comfortable at the back, Murphy with not much to do. 10 men twice in the league at Dundalk and two draws, that'll do. Late defeat in Cork a few weeks ago all the more important now.

Hope Cork go on and do it now.

    Thank You Shamrock Rovers.

Still huge game Friday for Cork.

Dundalk still massive favourites but just glimmer of hope.

20 quid into main stand for away supporters and hardly anybody bothers going to the kip. Hate that. That fine won't pay itself.

€20 into the stand also for home supporters. And yet there was only about 25 of you's that treated yourselves to that luxury!:pac:
For a fiver less you could have stood(or sat) with the other 27 supporters from Shams on the away terrace

20 euro is extreme to be fair. All well and good this season while the going is good and people may pay anyway, but history suggests that won't last forever.

At least now its in both teams hands, Cork win their remaining 2 games & they're champions, Dundalk do the same they're champions, makes the final day game all the more exciting for both sets of fans, who wants to stroll to a title eh, no fun in that :-)

Still think there's a surprise result in there somewhere though... Cork have the harder game this weekend so maybe that's the venue for a season ending slip!!

3012 there last night. Is that close to capacity or what? We are getting 600 tickets for the last game. I know that a lot of CCFC fans have already bought "home" tickets through the Dundalk website. Pretty silly of Dundalk to allow that to happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,496 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Bray V Dundalk on the telly on Friday, still haven't seen a confirmed KO time but would assume 7.05!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Sure you will be at the Cross anyway supporting your beloved new home City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

It might not come down to last game yet.

The last thing Cork City fans should be thinking about is Dundalk.

Bohs have been bogey team this season and going on Cup game at Cross Bohs could have been 4 up at end.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Bohs is a tough game, but they have nothing at all to play for, our fellas have it all. Obviously nerves could be a major factor, but I think we will hit them early with 2 or 3 and cruise the 2nd half :)

I actually do intend to be there, but sure the Horseshoe to watch Bray first. Nothing beloved bout the team, even if I do want them to win it!
