Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Get to half time lads.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

That stemmed from Whelan passing it back when he actually had space to carry the ball forward and pick somebody out!

    And hoof

A non-hoof related piece of play by Ward. My eyes deceive me...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

nice bit of play by Ireland there to get into the box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

People criticising Ireland but from what I can see they have a plan and it seems to be working.

We are playing the world champions, this isn't going to be pretty and if we do get anything out of this game it will be a miracle.

George Hamilton is doing my tits in. Yes we are ****e however this guy is just so negative of everything we are doing.

That's why we dont win world cups lads!!

that's what we should be doing both sides, running at them...get McGeady on the wing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,429 ✭✭✭Kenjataimu

Better by McClean... pity about the cross... but better :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

McClean's crossing is a bit hit and hope. Not doing too bad apart from that.

Are we not the World Hurling champions?

Robbie Keane is tiny. Stop trying to whip in balls for a header

Can we bring Roy Keane on, please?

The Irish fans who travel to the games are amazing.

We have to run at the right back. We have the beating of him.

You'd think we were 4-0 down already

The difference Mccarthy and Coleman would make here

    Problem is, Walters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭BMJD

No belief or confidence out there. As dreadful as the Jack Charlton or McCarthy years often were, the players always showed some balls on the pitch. These lads look like rabbits in the headlights. The exact opposite to what you'd expect from Roy Keane.

Nice by McClean, he just got excited

He's a centre-half by trade. Really should put McGeady on him.

This could be like The Trilla in Manila where we soak up everything and then hit them late.

But why is the aviva so sh1te then??? You could hear a mouse fart at any home match.

    Whelan has been pure muck

If Germany had Wes Hoolahan we'd be about 5-0 down by now.:p

long gibson and hoolihan on please..

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

God forbid Keane could have harried the defenders there a little!

    Irish gameplan:

    >Win ball
    >Panic
    >Pass it Backwards
    >Hoof

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Jesus Whelan is an awful coward in midfield

Getting past him with the ball once in 37 minutes is not "the beating of". :pac:

For all their possession Germany lacking a killer pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

So what you s reckon is the longest period of time we have had the ball for in the first half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,243 ✭✭✭✭briany

This could be like The Trilla in Manila where we soak up everything and then hit them late.

Except that defending like this makes you tireder than your opponent, and an Irish sucker punch would be much more down to luck than skill.

Trapattoni killed any self belief these players may have had. To sit back and not even try is their default setting.

Is tackling by the irish team verboten?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,414 ✭✭✭Lord Trollington

I'm a McGeady fan but get him off now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

David Forde will have more touches than any other Ireland player by the end of this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭BMJD

Can Glen Whelan actually knock a ball forward??? If he was talking a penalty he'd hit it back ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,866 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Good point by Whelan .. Not enough Irish players wanting the ball..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,408 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Somebody swapped Mc Geady. He's lost in that role.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

You feel that Germany are still in second gear here and can step this up if needed.

    Muller corner.

    Sorry.
