Very exciting game in the u21s! Ref was a bit questionable throughout the whole game. A little flick and he sends off fitzgibbon but I think it was Dalton got a smack into the head and the guy only gets a yellow.Their goalkeeper deserved what he got as he was on the ground for ages.

Waterford player should have been more clever and bring him down earlier for the team. Take the red and then it up to Cork to score with loads of defenders on the line.

Lads, where did we get this Dalton guy from? He looks a real winner! Coming up to drill that penalty I thought there would only be one result! He looked like he meant business!!

What a summer ye guys are having though. Still in the Championship in all grades. That's some resurgence considering the state Cork hurling was in a few years ago. I know Donal Og wasn't too pleased about it anyway.

Hopefully, Kilkenny's rebuilding process won't take too long and we can rekindle the rivalry of the early to mid 00's!

Cork have been at the end of such sickening defeats over the last decade at underage. Ref could have bottled it but showed backbone awarding the penalty. Cork have loads of room for improvement. All seniors , Fitzgibbon aside, were v poor.

Fitzgibbon is some class act. Ran his legs off last Sunday and again tonight.
Sheer tiredness at the end with that late flick on the keeper. Red was harsh.
What club is Dalton from.?

Just checking there, 6 of that Waterford team (including 3 of the backs) were starters on the All-Ireland winning team from last Year, away from home too, a huge win really.

Dalton was brilliant, the 2 sidelines cuts were superb, knocked over some incredible frees, scored from play, got seriously stuck in and then buried the penalty at the end. Roy of the Rovers stuff.

Fitzgibbon was immense, though the red was a bit harsh considering some of the other slaps handed out. His hurling skills are excellent, has a rolls royce engine on him and it doesn't seem to matter to him at all whether he goes to any part of the pitch, can seem to hurl anywhere.

Most of the other forwards were held against a serious Waterford backline. Bennett, Roche and Curran were really good for Waterford.

l thought Cork had thrown it away with a sequence of silly frees given up in the last 10 minutes but they pulled it out of the fire at the end to be fair.

A draw would have been a fair result. Would there have been ET ? because it would have been a struggle for the Cork lads with 14 players and their 2nd best player on the night sent off.

To be fair to the senior lads, they played Sunday and were out till all hours Sunday night. I'd say they weren't 100% there. Fitzgibbon obviously an exception, like a duracell battery. Serious ability.

Great win for the lads. Choo Choo on goes the red train.

I would imagine there will be a fair neutral crowd. There should be a record crowd for an intermediate match before that of course.

There were 4 or 5 yellows in the 2nd half, same amount of subs, and a couple of stoppages for injuries. Was really strange

centra/supervalu are just logging into tickets.ie as far as I know so if the tickets are not available online they wont be in shops I think

After being at the match tonight I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.. Sure, the stadium looks very nice but it's just so basic? I don't know what I was expecting to be honest, but the interior is so bland, with so few facilities..

Maybe it'll feel different this weekend with the big games but right now I don't really see what the point was in building this new stadium..

Some honour for young Cork senior Chris O Leary getting the first score in the new Pairc. Nice thing to have on your sport CV. Should never have been the first game though. Glen/CIT should would have been perfectly suitable for it.

Didn't get a chance to go. Talked to a lad at work who's diehard Glen fan and he said they were pretty brutal. Seemed a close game but Glen should be putting away a CIT team missing some star intercounty players and suspensions too I heard.

Still, current champions, a club with such deep history as the Glen playing one of the college teams in a senior club game. Would attract a huge crowd even midweek. I've heard Glen are fuming over getting the snub.
