Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know how long it takes for an online top up on a Leap card to appear on the card?

Topped up the child's Leap last night and she went to the Dart station this morning to activate it and there was no sign of it.

Why oh why can't topping up a Leap but just like topping up a phone without the need for all this activation crap :(

Why couldn't she top up herself at the dart station?
If your child can use the card they are most likely well able to top up the card.

You have to select a store or station to activate online top up.

If you want you can select auto top up and your child will never be without credit.

I don't understand what all the giving out is about as fares are lower and it is very easy to top up the card whether at home or out and about.

This is happening more frequent where children are trying to travel for free as they say they have no money and never have their cards topped up.
A lot of adults are also trying this and I don't just mean one or two.

This is indeed being flagged currently, and is the subject of some headscratching....;)

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Unless you did the top up before 5pm, it won't be there the next morning. They don't guarantee this but thats the reality

Then your leap card would need to be a phone in order to receive the top up, not terribly practical, system in London is the same except you have to pick a specific station

That's ****ing absurd. I've worked with a system that will take an online credit card payment and have it available to update a mifare card epurse within an hour via any reader on the system. Multiple proprietary systems, multiple operating systems, multiple databases, no bother. It's not that hard and it didn't require the anything like the time or budget that the Leapcard project has consumed. (Public sector too, in case you're wondering). Yes, I fully appreciate the complications that simply scaling up to something like Leap requires and I fully understand why you roll out something like this in carefully planned stages but, my god, they really have aimed low with some aspects of Leap.
