Almost sounds like the start of a joke, but it exists! There are 2 options that I know of..

http://www.better2know.ie/ - UK based, with a huge amount of walk in clinics in the UK also. There's a large selection of tests to choose from, can get pricey. Samples are sent to a lab in Dublin though so fast enough turn around.

https://www.lloydsonlinedoctor.ie/ (in association with the IFPA) - Not as many options as B2K but still looks decent enough.

I don't think there's any doubt about the legitimacy of these services, but the problem is there's little in the way of reviews online about them.

So has anyone here ever used these services, or know someone that has? What did you/they think?

It's good to have choices and it's a great option to have available, but I don't think anything can compare with a face-to-face with your doctor, especially if results aren't straightforward.

I'm sure a lot of people would have questions they need answered, and they may be inclined to put off getting the advice and/or support they need if they use online resources only. It's a great resource, but not really equal to seeing your own doc or going to a walk in clinic, and that should be taken into consideration before using it.

That said, I'm sure it works out well for most.

I'd say if you need face to face time to have some questions dealt with then you may be genuinely concerned that you have contracted something, in which case I can see the benefit of using somewhere local.

But as a matter of routine, where you're not concerned about testing positive, but maybe you've started seeing someone new and feel it's better to be safe than sorry, I'm not sure if seeing someone face to face is all that beneficial, when all you're looking for is a definitive test result either way.

Yes, I think the main benefit of a face to face consultation would be if the results are a surprise. As I said, I'm sure it's a great option for most as I think most people are just looking for confirmation that everythings' ok. :)

    I used Lloyds online doctor.

I found it very convenient as I was busy with work and wasn't too keen about going to a clinic. I got the results by text. It's nearly a year ago since I did it so I might order another home screening kit soon.
