In fairness Madrid weren't great against those minnows the last away fixture, can't remember the name.

Either where Liverpool to be fair at home.

Cant see anything other than a handy win for Madrid tonight. 2 or 3 goals. Major gulf in class

I expect Liverpool to win this easily enough. Pepe good for a red card as well.

Keep an eye out for Isco as the conductor in the final third. He should play as the no. 10 with Bale out (James should play on the right wing)

I watched Real's last game and Isco absolutely ran the show. He looks to be in fine form.

We're gonna get thrashed. I'll go for 3/4 nil to Real.
Just cant see us even sneaking a draw the way we're playing.

    Ahhh...I see what you're doing!

Yep fully agree, we have no hope, would take 0-2 right now, Real are going to rip through our midfield....etc

    :P

    Liverpool's team has been released:

    ...................Indecisive.............

Headless chicken............. Walking mistake...... Wanderer........ Moreno

    ............Too old, legs gone.............

    Allen.......... Henderson

    Sterling .......Lazy.......Coutinho

It came from a 'pool fan so don't shoot the messenger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,680 ✭✭✭Stargate

No doubt the home crowd will play a major part in this game . First 20 or so minutes will be crucial .
If we leak a soft goal or two early i fear it could be 4 or 5 to Madrid .

It's Anfield on a European night so anything is possible !!

Just hope the team plays well , and don't play like they have been the past few weeks or it's curtains .

on paper, on form, that'd be the way.
BUT, a little like Man city are the little men and underachievers in Europe with no swagger or belief even at home (despite a squad costing billions), Liverpool has a strange knack of pulling results especially at Anfield.

thankfully its the one watchable game tonight, as the other 7 games aren't up to much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

We are just playing too poorly and leaking goals to expect a positive result. Real defensively are no great shakes but getting at them is difficult, not to mention the form Ronaldo is in.

If this was last years team I would back us to do something ridiculous like score 4 or 5, but we have shown nothing from last season yet. If Sturridge was fit and available, I'd say ya we can get a result and score a couple, but I have no confidence in Balotelli at present.

Realistically a good performance and a draw would be great but if we do get beat, I hope its not too heavy.

Your probably hoping Moreno has a shocker to make up for your embarrassing assemement of the player.

All the goals are still going to be his fault anyway!

the only way to have a chance is to stop the supply line to the front men. that's it. no ifs, no buts. stop the ball getting in to Benzema, James and Ronaldo, shift it quickly to Sterling, and we might have half a chance.

that will take a lot of work and a lot of discipline.

of course, all of that won't matter a toss if we shít ourselves every time the ball comes into our box.

James 1st goalscorer Madrid win 9/1- money back if Ronaldo scores 1st! 👍

    2-2 at 90 minutes.

With Liverpool winning by 4-3 at the final whistle.

Madrid at Evens did seem a bit like Christmas earlier on. Can't quite understand why they drifted out from 8/11, even with most of the public money on them.

Real Madrid XI vs Liverpool: Casillas; Arbeloa, Varane, Pepe, Marcelo; Kroos, Modric; Rodriguez, Isco, C.Ronaldo; Benzema.

Happens with all well supported teams, Liverpool, United especially

Its worse in the Gaelic tbh, Dublin opposition are insane prices! won a nice bit on Donegal

    8-1 to Madrid.

We should have tried to sign The Shouter from United. Would really have strengthened that defence!

Lambert to come off the bench and score the winner with his windmilling penis.

Syrely borini was worth a spot on the bench at least??

That's not the case. If you laid Liverpool in every PL game since the start of 07, you'd have an ROI of 20%. The same with United, you'd be -5%. In general since the Asians took over, bog standard supporters and bettors have little influence on price, even in great numbers. Like I said, Madrid are the public team tonight, they are the losers in the bookies books. I'm surprised they drifted so much earlier, although it looks to be returning to normal now pre kick off

Might be an argument to have him there instead of Lambert, but both players have still to do anything of note in a Liverpool jersey and this is Borini's third season  He really should have jumped on that Sunderland offer imo.
