Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is how I think we'll line up and I've put a season's rating for each player in brackets after their name.

    Cherrie(7); Gannon (8), Gartland (8), Boyle (8), Massey (7.5); Shields (7.5), O'Donnell (N/A), Horgan (8.5), Towell (8), Meenan (7); Hoban (9)

Ten of the starters are nailed on and it's a toss up between Byrne and O'Donnell for the final spot more than likely. I reckon given Byrne's sub par performances the last two games O'Donnell could come in beside Shields giving Towell license to start further up the pitch.

Curious as to why you have Meenan as the lowest ranking outfield player. Inconsistent?

Meenan splits opinion amongst many Dundalk fans and I'm sure some of my fellow fans in here will wholeheartedly disagree. For me he has the best set piece delivery in the league and has to be one of the fastest. However he has a horrible habit of giving the ball away and for quite a few games this season he has offered nothing bar his set piece deliveries. When he's on song he's great but doesn't produce it enough for me.

T'was a great cross for Hobans goal last week! From the above, I gather that it was rarely replicated.

He has quite a lot of assists but the majority of them are from corners/free kicks. In fairness to him he's definitely upped his performances over the last month having been poor for most of August/early September. He has the potential to be a game changer tomorrow evening. Really hope he's in the zone.

If you start with O'Donnell you'll win it, otherwise, I'm not so sure

Cork players going through their pre bedtime rituals about now. It's gonna be a long long night for each and every won of them. Sweating, twitching and unable to sleep in their beds as they recall their previous couple of games in Oriel Park.

Mark McNulty letting out a piercing scream as slow motion replays of the ten goals he has conceded to Dundalk in the last three games between the sides go through his frazzled mind.

It's been the same old story for most of Cork's big away matches this season in the noisier grounds. They arrive on to the pitch and soil their nappies as they immediately become rabbits in the headlights whilst longing for the warm bosom of the Turner's Cross faithful.

Thankfully for the poor Cork players their nightmare will soon be over and they can return home to Cork (empty handed) safe in the knowledge that an extra hours sleep awaits them on Sunday morning thanks to the clocks going back.

    V Dundalk- LOST 4-0; LOST 4-0
    V Pats- LOST 3-2
    V Shamrock Rovers- WON 2-0; LOST 2-0
    V Bohs- LOST 2-0; LOST 1-0

    Played 7; Won 1; Lost 6; For 4; Against 16.

Garry Buckley and Rob Lehane can draw from the experience of having scored on that pitch to win a national trophy not so long ago.

Yeah that's lovely for Lehane. He'll have great fun drawing on all that experience as he watches on from the subs bench.

'tis a shame that you can't bring players on from the bench. They should really allow it, would really help teams to be able to make substitutes.

Tis also a shame Lehane has played exactly one minute over the past four games. Don't think young Rob will be playing much part of tomorrows showdown.

Match day info was released earlier by the club. It appears the game will be shown live on the big screen in Market Square in the town centre.

    http://www.dundalkfc.com/matchday-information-cork/

Bit of info for Cork fans:

Are you a Cork fan with a ticket to the Dundalk end?

As this is a Category A match strict segregation is in place.
Regardless of how you got your ticket, you will not gain entrance to the Dundalk section of the ground if you are a Cork supporter. Please go to the away section with other Cork fans for admission to the match.
Any Cork supporters that manage to get into the Dundalk section of the crowd will be escorted to the away supporter area.

    Message for Cork Fans

All Cork City supporters, for both ground and stand, enter via the Carrick Road side entrance (see map above).
Stand Ticket holders gain access to the stand via the entrance by the away supporter terrace. Security personnel will assist you in this regard. You will need your stand ticket to enter the stand.
Toilet facilities for Cork fans will be located beside the away terrace and near the stand entrance. Cork fans in the stand can avail of the facilities at in the terrace area and must show their stand ticket to gain re-admission to the stand.
The weather forecast appears to be good tomorrow. However, Oriel Park is an old stadium and does not offer covered terraces for away fans. Please bring a raincoat!

It was also a shame that Lehane has been injured lately, but most of your posts are full of exaggerated hyperbole anyway so par for the course.

Safe trip to everyone going tomorrow, already buzzing for it and either way should be a great spectacle for the league. Great to see such interest in a game, even for a title decider. Fair play to Dundalk for putting clear instructions for fans tomorrow, no excuse for any confusion now really.

Why the hell are we talking about Lehane? He's been on the bench all season when fit and has played twenty minutes here and there. He's the equivalent of Mark Griffin in our squad. It's unlikely he'll have much say in this game.

Really fancy Dundalk to romp it home tonight with a 3-0/4-0 win. However, John Caulfield is the king of setting up teams to turn matches into dog fights and frustrate the opposition. So it could easily go 0-0. An early goal and Dundalk will coast it.

Gonna have a small punt on -2 and -3 Dundalk.

Looking forward to tonight's match. Wasn't long ago that Munster didn't have a representative in the league, so good to see City back, and their success no doubt promoting the sport in Cork

If a City win tonight can deter even one kid from a future of Canterbury track suits, dubs and the general knobishness we all associate with rugby fans, then it will be worth the stress we'll all have to endure in putting up with those Corkonians, the heads of whom will no doubt inflate even further beyond current levels with a win

Is the pitch real grass or "plastic", Barry Glendenning said the latter on Football Weekly. Hard to tell at the moment.

Dundalk to win this I think. And the fit the occasion it'll probably be something like Stephen O' Donnell grabbing an injury time winner.

Really hope Cork do it though as it would be hilarious to see Dundalk bottle this.
