Would I get a holiday entitlement for 2014 if I was to start this late in the year?
I know it wouldn't look so good to take it but I can take them into next year,

Ive found the role advertised with a different agency so that gives me some reassurance that its all above board. Reading stories of people being informed of jobs that don't exist made me a little nervous.

You seem to be getting bad advice here and yourself are fairly ill-informed.

I work in recruitment. MOST recruiters will sell you any job they have on thier desk now. You could have been a match for the origional role but you were a quick win for the agency on the role you are doing now, so in you go.
ask the agency what period do you need to be working in the company before they can take you on with no placement fee.
working in finance the agency will get about 3 euro per hour on you, but may also charge 10-15% of your first years wage as a fee to your company. It is win-win as you say, but not for you.

On the Grad program, it is very competitive now, you say you are looking at the Big 4? What can you offer? You didnt get a 1.1 or a 2.1 , you dont know your legal employment rights under the AWD and how to read a recruiter. I dont want to sound a prick but the Big 4 recruit the best possibile grads and from reading here your not showing you are the best.

Hi allibastor, in your experience what sort of percentage of people who go into an agency role and are promised there is a view to permanency end up becoming permanent employees with that company?

Hi, It depends on the industry to be totally honest.

In some with IT or with hospitality it does happen quiet a lot, staff will be brought in and will end up being taken on as either the perm staff will leave in the meantime, or else more work will come up.

In general though, the rate of candidates has not been massively high, if a company will need a full timer they will advertise for such. If they have a temp doing the job in the meantime they may just keep it that way.
A lot does also depend on the buy back rate and how long you need to work there before the company can take you on. Some agencies will ensure they win all the time, so they may have an open ended buy out period where you could be there for 2 years and the host company will still have to buy you off the agency.

I sent an email to the recruiter wondering was there any updates as I thought there may be. He said the company expect it to be a little slow moving and that it may be later in the week or next week before anything comes back.

From what people have been saying here, I partly smell a rat but maybe I just misunderstood our earlier conversation a little.

How do you mean they said it will be slower?

If the recruiter told you before he had a job which you were suited for this should not be the case. It sounds like they had a range of jobs or possible jobs from the company and are only floating your CV as a potential good candidate.

As for proof that your CV was sent and for a job spec for the role, It sounds a bit dodgy to be honest.

My understanding was that it would take a few days/maybe a week for things to move on and to know weather I'm getting an interview with the company.

They do have a number of jobs with this particular company but I am only a suitable candidate for one of them.
I was sent a job spec via email by them and its also listed on irishjobs.ie.
