Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm admittedly missing our last home game of the season vs Derry to watch the big one on TV. The shame. Barstool/Armchair scum I am.

Beat Limerick. Pats lose. Score 10 more goals than Pats. Sorted.

Don't think we've been full strength since the start of last season. I'm sure we'll be missing a few.

    Athlone might disagree

I wouldn't trust Sligo so Rovers will just need to get the ten themselves

It'll be 0-0 no doubt. McCabe missing an injury time peno at the car park end as word comes through that Pats are 9-0 down or suchlike.... now THAT would be a very Rovers way to end a season!

Not that i expect Pats to collapse anyway...

If rumours are true this is the last game for a lot of the players. Assume they will be up for it.

I would like a full strength Pats team but seriously doubt it will happen we played 6 under 19s vs Athlone.

now you mention it, Kilduff is due another of his injurytime round-the-keeper and hit the side netting efforts

I can see a lot of games been poorly attended tonight.

    More so than usual...

Good. We already have the young lads signed up, plus peers and Cawley. Other than Henderson there's nobody else I'd be particularly upset to lose.

Definitely a few that need to go.

Yeah we're far from full strength. About seven players out. Standard enough.

Spillane starts. Don't know if its possible to win a game with him playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

We have our best 11 out. Please no injuries :)

Should be 2-0 up. Benson missed a one on one in the last minute of the half.
    Bricking it here.

19 league goals.......didnt make team of the season.

    YES!!!!!
Well deserved win. 2 wins in a row, 2 clean sheets in a row and a bit of momentum against Galway on Monday.
I'd resigned myself to relegation 2 weeks ago but now I'll be gutted if we go down next Friday.

What time is the return leg in Galway next Friday? 7:45?

****e end to a ****e season. Don't know what to make of Heary coming in either.

Clear out is needed anyway. The team we put out tonight was woeful. Three of the back four should not be making a living from football.

Highlight of the LOI weekend being Ndo's attempt to 'do a Higuita' in injury time from a cross.

Pleased for UCD - don't think anyone thought they'd get this far, but don't see a hope for them against Galway

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,231 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

Bohs confirm Heary has left the club, glad to see him have a nice send off with a win against Derry. We were blessed to have a man with such loyalty and drive. Wish him nothing but success in the future (Unless he ends up at Rovers/Shels).

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Presume so. Unfortunately won't be able to make it but I'm hoping a Galway radio station will have it.

Played our best 11 twice this season, won both games.

Oh what could have been :(

If nothing else he'shown that he can work quite comfortably with limited resources. He certainly won't be afforded the kind of transfer budget that Cook and Baraclough were.

Next season will be fairly modest for us. Qualifying for Europe via the league would be a huge success. But I suspect we'll need to win the cup if were to have another euro adventure.

There are certainly a few players that I won't be overly sad to see the back of. "Professional" footballers, me arse.

Little hints of confidence at times last night imo - passed the ball very well for stretches. Benson suspended for the first leg is a huge loss but you never know. Two wins on the trot coming into Monday...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,965 ✭✭✭✭Gavin "shels"

That end to the season couldn't come quick enough!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 505 ✭✭✭UnleashTheBeast

To be truthful, it was fairly comfortable for us over the two legs against Shelbourne. Even when they took the lead last night, we didn't lose our composure and we never really looked like losing. Our second half performance fully merited the win in the end.

Hopefully we can keep it going against UCD next week, it will be more difficult than most think I'm sure.
